United India Association Holds its Annual Diwali Celebrations on Sunday

NEWTON, MA–United India Association of New England will celebrate its annual Diwali function this Sunday, Nov. 6,  from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Newton South High School, UIA President Neela Gandhi said.

diwali-wikipediaNewton South High School is located at 140 Brandeis Road, Newton Center, Newton. Cost is $5 per person. The event is free to UIA members and membership is $10/single,$20/family or $100/life.

“We have a fun-filled and entertaining program with diwali puja, vibrant cultural program with participants including children of all ages and adults, fashion show, attractive raffle prizes, delicious Indian and Chinese appetizers and dinner sold at nominal price by Chinese Mirch, Delicious Kulfi by Bollywood Delights and a variety of vendor tables including henna, jewelry, clothes and so much more,” said Gandhi. “Trophies and candy will be given to children and the participants.”
