‘Krishndasi’, a serial based on devdasis’ life, launched
Mumbai–“Krishndasi”, a serial based on the devadasi community, was launched here Tuesday with a grand dance performance by its lead star cast. The Hindi remake of the Tamil show with the same name and based on a book written by Indra Soundarajan, it features actors Sana Amin Sheikh, Chhavi Mittal, Indira Krishnan, Uday Tikekar,Jiten Lalwani, Shweta Mahadik and Shravan Reddy.

“I have great hopes because I have put in my 100 percent. This show is very different because I have an aura (in this show) … I have got in a lot of glamour after a long time,” Indira told IANS at the launch ceremony in the Trident hotel here. Starting from January 25, the Colors show will be replacing the controversial “Bigg Boss Nau” and will be aired for Monday to Friday for an hour.

Talking about the show, Sana said: “It’s a different and an untouched concept that has never been shown on Hindi television industry…I’ve always been pro-bold concepts.” Set against the backdrop of present-day Pune, “Krishndasi” will showcase the story of three generations whose heritage holds secrets that shape their contrasting personalities.

Age is no bar for Reshmi Ghosh

Mumbai– Actress Reshmi Ghosh, best known for her roles in shows like “Kayamath”, “Mata Ki Chowki” and “Buddha”, has taken on the role of Kaikeyi in the popular mythological show “Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman”. And her character’s age is no bar for her.

“Honestly, after working for 17 years in the industry, the age of the character is no priority. In fact, I don’t even mind playing a grandmother if the role is substantial,” she said. “I don’t differentiate between the genres, I love being part of these shows as I get to mouth chaste Hindi dialogues through these heavy weight characters that I take up,” Reshmi, a former Miss India Earth, said in a statement.

“Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman”, aired on Sony Entertainment Television, depicts the story of Lord Hanuman told from the viewpoint of Lord Krishna and his wife Devi Rukmini.

Ekta Kapoor visits ‘Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant’ set

TV tsarina Ekta Kapoor paid a visit to the set of upcoming show “Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant” to bless the show’s producer Sonali Jaffar. “Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant” is a light-hearted show that presents the protagonist Rajni as a flawless daughter-in-law who is every man’s fantasy.

Ekta even gifted a Lord Ganesha idol to her protege. “It is an auspicious start with Ganpati Bappa’s presence and I wish the entire unit the best of luck. To make a successful show it takes a lot of love and effort. A story is not spoken, it is felt and this story has come straight from Sonali’s heart. So, I hope it reaches thousands of other hearts,” Ekta, who visited the show’s set on Monday, said in a statement. Details about the cast of the show are still kept under wraps. “Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant” will be aired on Life OK.

New TV show ‘Silsila Pyaar Ka’ takes leap in second week itself

The makers of “Silsila Pyaar Ka” have decided to bring a leap of five years in the narrative of the show in its second week itself. This is being done to bring interesting twists and turns in the storyline.

As per the ongoing story, Kajal (Chhavvi Pandey) will get married to Akshay (Sehban Azim) while Raunak (Abhay Vakil) is sent away by his mother Janki Tiwari (Shilpa Shirodkar) who did not want Kajal to be her daughter-in-law.

“The show will take a five-year leap and I (my character) will be leading a happy married life. Since it is a Rashmi Sharma show, the viewers can expect a lot of twists and turns. What will happen to my marriage and what will Raunak do next is something viewers will have to see the show for,” Chhavvi said in a statement. The post-leap story of the Star Plus show will feature Kajal happily settled with Akshay and they have a four-year-old daughter Sakshi (Tvisha Solanki).
