Now a movie on TV show ‘Gangaa’

Mumbai–The success story of popular TV show “Gangaa”, which showcases the story about a girl’s indomitable spirit and her will to survive, has been encapsulated in a TV film titled “Gangaa – ‘Chota Parda Badi Movie’”.

The two-hour movie will encompass protagonist Gangaa’s journey from challenging the social norms to standing up for herself.

The story of the film will focus upon sensitive issues like child marriage, widowhood and rigid customs.

“’Gangaa’ is close to my heart. It showcases the story of a child widow who is a strong girl and fights the society and challenges the logic behind such social norms and practices. I am really excited that the channel has decided to make a short film on it,” Aditi, who plays the role of Gangaa in the show, said in a statement.

“Gangaa – ‘Chota Parda Badi Movie’” will be aired on Saturday on &TV.

Huge fan of Sugandha Mishra: Terence Lewis

Ace choreographer Terence Lewis, who is seen as a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance ‘Ab India ki Baari’”, had a fanboy moment on the dance reality show when he got a chance to meet singer-comedienne Sugandha Mishra.

Sugandha appeared on the show alongside actor Jay Bhanushali to promote their upcoming singing reality show “The Voice India Kids”, in which they will be seen as hosts.

“I have seen Sugandha perform live a lot of times and I am a huge fan of hers. And, when she came on the set of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, how can I let her go without doing some mimicry. It was a lot of fun and she is outstanding,” Lewis said in a statement.

Apart from Lewis, “So You Think You Can Dance ‘Ab India ki Baari’” also features Bollywood’s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene and choreographer Bosco Martis as judges.

The episode of the show featuring Sugandha and Jay will be aired on Saturday on &TV.

Oops! Kunal Jaisingh breaks Leenesh Mattoo’s nose

Actor Kunal Jaisingh, who is seen as Omkara in TV show “Ishqbaaaz”, accidentally broke his co-star Leenesh Mattoo’s nose while shooting for a fight sequence.

It so happened that Leenesh, who plays Rudra, got embroiled in a fight with goons at a party in which he was rescued by his older brothers’ Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Omkara. While the trio got together to fight the goons, in a mismatched co-ordination, Kunal ended up punching Leenesh on his nose.

“My nose got immediately swollen up and we had to rush for a medical aid to a nearby hospital. It wasn’t Kunal’s fault and he was guilty about it and was constantly apologising as well.

“Even when we were at the dispensary for my treatment, he was there by my side. I am glad that I’ve found a lifelong friend-cum-brother in Kunal,” Leenesh said in a statement.

“Ishqbaaaz”, aired on Star Plus, narrates the story of three brothers who are divided by family, but united by their bond with each other.

Veteran actor Jeetendra, head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, lauded child artist Aditi Bhatia for her portrayal as elder Ruhi in TV show “Ye Hai Mohabbatein”. He says she is “doing a wonderful job”.

Jeetendra recently paid a surprise visit on the sets of the Star Plus TV show, which features Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel as lead.

“I only watch ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ on television. It’s my favourite show and I absolutely love the bubbly character of Ruhi,” Jeetendra said in a statement.

The father of Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor added: “I think Aditi Bhatia (elder Ruhi on the show post the leap) is doing a wonderful job of playing a tomboyish rock star type character at such a young age.”

Aditi, 16, was overwhelmed after getting praised by a senior actor like Jeetendra.

“I’m blessed to be liked and loved by an iconic personality like Jeetendra-ji. Never had I thought that he will like my performance so much that he would personally come down to meet me and appreciate me,” Aditi said.

“Firstly I was very nervous to meet or even speak to him, but when I did, I felt on top of the world. He told me that my acting transition from Ruhaan to Ruhi is commendable and called me a true rockstar in real life too,” she added.
