BOSTON—With over 20 percent of all restaurants in Massachusetts have been permanently closed due to current COVID-19 pandemic. Indian restaurants are also also hurting badly.

In an exclusive Roundtable with INDIA New England News, representative of three Indian restaurants–Vinod Kapoor of Masala Art, Vishal Sood of Gourmet India and Satyam of Treasury Restaurant–talk about challenges faced by them and how the Indian American community can help rebuild the Indian restaurant industry.

A group of Indian American businessmen and community leaders have gathered together to help Indian restaurants, and are urging the community to Celebrate Valentine’s Day this year and help Indian restaurants with take outs. They are also urging members of the community to attend a virtual Valentine’s Day Music Show for free, get a $25 gift card to any of the participating Boston area Indian restaurants. To get a $25 gift card, please record a 15-second video message to your Valentine and share with Valentine’s Day Music Show.

“We will play uploaded messages during the Zoom musical show – so make sure that your message is Valentie-worthy,” said Praveen Misra, one of the key organizers of this event, dubbed as Shaam-E-Mohabbat.

The musical show will be held virtually at 7:00 pm on Feb. 13 on Zoom. Singers include: Anuradha Palakurthi, Ashutosh Patel, Raghu Saranathan, Rajiv Gangurde, Sankar Gangaikondan, and Valentino Almeida.
