Saxena has had a hand in a number of successful local tech companies. He led Netezza through an IPO in 2007, raising $108 million, Boston Business Journal said. Three years later IBM bought the company for $1.7 billion. Before that, Saxena founded Westborough-based software firm Applix Inc. in 1983, leading it through an IPO in 1994, added the newspaper.

“Jit Saxena has taken two tech companies public and joined the board of a number of high-profile startups,” Boston Business Journal said. “He has since become a board member at high-profile Boston tech companies like Actifio, Applause, DataRobot and Demandware, which Salesforce bought last year for $2.8 billion.”

“Jit identifies winners,” Boston Business Journal quoted Mautic CEO Matt Johnston as saying. “He recognizes marketing automation as a massive market.”
