BOSTON– Anil Saigal and Jonjy Ananth have been appointed a Commissioner of the Asian American Commission for a term of three years.
AAC, whose goal is to recognize and highlight the vital contributions of Asian Americans to the social, cultural, economic, and political life of the Commonwealth, is dedicated to advocacy on behalf of Asian Americans throughout Massachusetts.
The swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed AAC Commissioners has been scheduled for Friday Feb 17, 2017 (2.30pm to 3.00 pm) at Massachusetts Treasurer Deb Goldberg’s Office.
Saigal, a professor at Tufts University, is co-founder of the community news portal Lokvani and a former president of India Association of Greater Boston.
Ananth is a volunteer for Saheli, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting women’s rights and family welfare of South Asian women in New England.
