Professors Nikhil Agarwal and Sana Aiyar Granted Tenure at the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, MA—MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences announced that Nikhil Agarwal, Sana Aiyar, Stephanie Frampton, Daniel Hidalgo and Miriam Schoenfield have recently granted tenure, according to MIT News.

Nikhil Agarwal

Agarwal, associate professor of economics, joined the MIT faculty in 2014 after earning his PhD at Harvard University and teaching economic policy at Stanford University.

He has received grants from the National Institute of Health and a Sloan Research Fellowship. He teaches Microeconomic Theory and Public Policy (Course 14.03), and courses on industrial organization.

Sana Aiyar

Aiyar, associate professor of history, is a specialist in the history of modern South Africa, She is the author of “Indians in Kenya: The Politics of Diaspora” and her research focuses on colonial and postcolonial politics and society in the Indian Ocean.

She formerly taught at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
