MUMBAI–The Miracle Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Austin, TX and New Delhi, announced its partnership with the first-ever Global Citizen Festival in India to raise awareness and funds for orphans across India. The event will mirror the annual Global Citizen Festival held in New York’s Central Park, where free tickets are earned by performing various social tasks.
The Miracle Foundation will serve as an official non-profit partner of Global Citizen India, a movement and a community of like-minded individuals working collectively towards global change, for the next 15 years.
Renowned musical acts such as the British rock band Coldplay and American rapper Jay Z will perform for the first time in India, at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, November 19, 2016, in Mumbai.
They will appear alongside a host of Bollywood celebrities and artists, including: Aamir Khan, AR Rahman, Arjun Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor-Khan, Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora-Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Vijender Singh.
According to UNICEF, there are 153 million orphans in the world; 20 percent of those children live in India.
Miracle Foundation is a nonprofit organization that brings life changing care to parentless children across India. The foundation is currently supporting 25 children’s homes, supporting thousands of children across India from the hinterlands of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh to the far-flung areas of Tripura.
Aimed toward improving the lives of children without parents, Global Citizen India will promote Miracle Foundation, enabling the organization to raise funds for education and scholarships through the Global Citizen India Festival on November 19.
To further this initiative, the organizers of Global Citizen India and Miracle Foundation will work with Ketto, an online crowd-funding platform, to help raise funds for children without parents. The funds raised from this initiative will go as proceeds toward providing educational opportunities for the children.
It’s going to be a fundraising challenge – if you’re the fastest to successfully raise funds you would be winning an entry to the Global Citizen Festival India, headlined by Coldplay, Jay Z and several Indian artists.
