BURLINGTON, MA—The Woman of the Year Awards gala is supported by a number of key sponsors and supporting sponsors, and this year was no different. All sponsors from the previous years came again this year to support the Woman of the Year event that was held on Friday at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. About 500 people attended the event.

BMW of Sudbury and Pranav Gill

BMW of Sudbury and its General Manager Pranav Gill served as platinum sponsor. Gill and his BMW Dealership in Sudbury, MA, is ranked one of the top BMW dealerships in North America. Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury, which is managed by Gill, has earned this distinction by demonstrating consistently superior performance, with a combination of sales leadership and customer satisfaction. One World Cuisine

One World Cuisine, which has provided Boston with distinctive culinary horizons from the Indian subcontinent for more than 30 years through its restaurants, was also the platinum sponsor of the event. Cambridge, MA-based One World Cuisine owns and manages several Indian restaurants, including Diva in Somerville, Dosa Factory at Newbury Street and Cambridge, and Mela and Bukhara Bistro in Boston.

The Boston Group and Subu Kota

The Boston Group, known as TBG, and its founder and CEO Subu Kota served as gold sponsor of the event. Founded in 1988, TBG provides a wide range of services to Fortune 500 and mid-market clients. Its range of services to include IT outsourcing, e-Learning, and a series of vertical market solutions, including e-governance. TBG today has a presence in five countries and serves clients in a broad range of industries, including pharmaceutical, financial, insurance, manufacturing, higher-ed, banking, and retail.

Desai Foundation and Samir and Nilima Desai

The Desai Foundation and its founders Samir and Nilima Desai served as gold sponsors of the Woman of the Year Awards gala. The Desai Foundation has multiple goals both in India and the United States. It seeks to improve social and economic life in the villages of India, and to develop and implement educational programs in the United States. The overall mission of the Foundation is to help the community in which we live, as well as the one we came from, by promoting better health and education. The Foundation envisions a society where everyone leverages their experiences and resources to reach out to others in greater need.

Dr. Manju Sheth, MD

Dr. Manju Sheth, MD, served as gold sponsor as well as the hostess of the event and one of the key members of the organizing team of the Woman of the Year Awards Gala. Dr. Sheth is a Board Certified Internist with keen interest in women’s health. She works at Lahey Health. She was voted in the 150 ‘Women of Influence’ by YW of Boston in 2016. Dr. Sheth served as president of Indian Medical Association of New England in 2013. She has been a big advocate for empowerment of women and has been voted Woman of the year in 2011. She is the president of INE Multimedia, a non-profit company. She is the creator and host of  popular “Chai with Manju” celebrity interview series as well as “Dream catchers”  featuring people from the local community who have made their dreams a reality.

Yash and Jigna Shah

Yash and Jigna Shah of Chelmsford, MA, were silver sponsors of the event.  Yash Shah is serves as Chief Technology Officer of Boston-based SevOne, a provider of network and infrastructure management solutions. Shah has founded several tech companies including InteQ, a cloud-based, SaaS IT Service Management company. Most recently, Shah was SVP of Product Design and Management at CA Technologies, which he joined after selling InteQ to CA Technologies. He is a current board member of TiE Boston, a nonprofit association dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Boston area, and serves on the advisory boards for several startups.

INE Multimedia

INE Multi Media Inc., is a non-profit organization, served as silver sponsor.  INE MultiMedia is devoted to promoting and supporting non-profit organizations focused on South Asian community in the United States as well as in the South Asian sub-continent by working directly working with them and connecting them with each other as needed. We promote art, culture, education and empowerment through workshops, seminars and multimedia presentations and documentaries.

Motwane Foundation and Ramesh Motwane

Motwane Foundation and its founder Boston entrepreneur Ramesh Motwane were silver sponsor of the event. Motwane, who now focuses on his non-profit organization and TiE-Boston, has  donated 40 percent of his assets to Northeastern University in Boston and 40 percent to his alma mater in India: Gandhidham Civil Engineering Institute, now known as Tolani Motwane Institute in the Indian state of Gujarat in India.

Waltham, MA-based The Mishra Group served as silver sponsor. Burlington Marriott

Burlington Marriott hotel in Burlington, MA, served as the silver sponsor of the event. The 15th annual Woman of the Year event was held at Burlington Marriott, which has become a major venue for Indian and South Asians weddings and events.

Alankar Event Planners & Decorators and Shobha Shastri

Alankar Event Planners & Decorators and its founder Shobha Shastri served as supporting sponsor of the Woman of the Year Awards Gala. Shastri is one of the first Indians to venture into the South Asian wedding business in New England. Alankar Decors has been providing wedding decorations, mandaps, and event planning throughout Boston and New England since 1998.

Boston Sound and Light Company

Boston Sound and Light Company, known as BSL, was the supporting sponsor.
