LITTLETON, MA— Aangikam Dance Academy, founded by Jasmine Shah, will present its 30th annual dance program on Sunday, June 25, at Littleton High School auditorium in Littleton, MA. The program this year is entitled: Art, Artist and Inspiration, and is aimed at honoring the artists’ vision.

Approximately 180 dancer of all ages—from six year olds to adults–will participate in the dance program.

“How do artists come up with brilliant concepts of art? What is it that inspires them and drives them to create art?,” asks Shah. “Many times it is to express themselves, or to reflect upon their surroundings.”

Shah, is the director and the founder of Aangikam Dance Academy, which teaches two classical style dances from India, Bharat Natyam and Manipuri, as well as folk dances from various regions of India. In addition, she has served the Gujarati Association of New England in various positions, including its president.

“As a dancer, choreographer, and an artist, I sometimes create my own art, or try and recreate somethings in my own way. I am inspired by the nature and the work of other great artists,” Shah told INDIA New England News.  “From paintings to sculptures, songs, dances and even everyday situations, inspiration can be found in the most likely and unlikely of places.”

Shah will present dances inspired by Raja Ravi Verma, Rajasthani painters, Indian folk art, festivals, nature, All mighty God and, and even today’s political drama.

The dance program will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Littleton High School in Littleton, MA, located at 56 King Street. The program will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The entrance fee is $15 per person.
