India’s Next Generation of Builders and Innovators Is Already Here: Gautam Adani

AHMEDABAD— Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Saturday said India’s next generation of builders and innovators is already emerging across the country and needs to be identified, supported and given opportunities to grow.

Adani made the remarks while announcing the completion of the first edition of ‘Vande Bharatam’, an initiative launched by him to identify and support emerging entrepreneurs and innovators.

The initiative received more than 26,000 entries from across India, with participants including young founders, women entrepreneurs, rural innovators and problem-solvers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

“26,000+ applications. Every state represented. Young founders, women entrepreneurs, rural innovators and remarkable problem-solvers from Tier 2 and 3 Bharat. All of them are winners and their journey has just begun,” Adani said in a post on social media platform X.

“What stays with me is the extraordinary depth of talent across this country,” the Adani Group chairman added.

Participants in the initiative also credited the platform with helping them connect directly with investors and mentors.

Reflecting on the initiative on Independence Day, Adani said the response was a reminder of India’s potential and the breadth of talent emerging from different parts of the country.

“For me, on this Independence Day, there is no better reminder of what India is capable of,” he said.

Adani also used his Independence Day message to reflect on the importance of values, conviction and responsibility in periods of significant change.

“There are times when the most important thing you can do is stay true to what you know, what you value and what you believe in,” he said.

He described August 15 not only as a day of celebration but also as a day of gratitude, while emphasizing that major transformation requires both sacrifice and patience.

“That is why August 15th is not merely a day of celebration for me; it is also a day of gratitude. And perhaps this gratitude teaches us another profound lesson of life: that no major transformation occurs without sacrifice, nor without patience,” the industrialist said.

The Vande Bharatam initiative comes amid a growing focus on entrepreneurship and innovation beyond India’s major metropolitan centres. Its participation base, spanning states and including entrepreneurs from smaller cities and rural areas, highlighted the range of ideas and businesses emerging across the country.

Concluding his Independence Day message, Adani said the next generation of Indian builders is already present and needs the right support to realize its potential.
