Indian government to set up national culinary institute

New Delhi– The government has approved the setting up of a national culinary institute in the country, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.

In a reply to a question, Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said: “The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has approved the setting up of an Indian Culinary Institute (ICI) at Tirupati with its Northern Regional Centre at Noida.”

“MoT has sanctioned an amount of Rs.97.92 crore for setting up ICI in Tirupati and Rs.90 crore for setting up ICI in Noida,” he said.

“Construction work has commenced at both the locations. The implementation period of each project is 24 months,” he added.
