“I was making some notes, and just thought, ‘What’s that sound,” said judge Keith Urban after Vaid’s performance of “Safe and Sound.” “Your voice is so good, Sonika. It just is.”

Los Angeles Times said that Vaid showed off her alluring tone but looked a little pageanty as she sang Taylor Swift’s “Safe & Sound.” The judges complimented her on her vocals, as they always do, but said they craved more emotionality, as they also always do, the newspaper said.

Lopez advised Vaid to “choose stuff that makes you feel something instead of just stuff that suits your voice, stuff that makes your heart sing.”

Vaid came to lime light in early January this year when media went crazy about her performance in the contest.
