BURLINGTON, MA– India Association of Greater Boston, one of the oldest non-profit community organizations in New England, is getting ready to organize its annual day-long Republic Day Mela with multiple competitions and cultural programs on Jan. 27 at Burlington High School in Burlington, MA.
The event is free and open to all attendees. The competitions at the Republic Day celebrations include:
Kids: Elocution, Storytelling, Science Quiz, Geography Bee, Trivia Quiz. Essay Writing.
Adults: Skit Enactment.
Mixed Ages: Art, Chess, Carrom, Poetry Writing, Photography.
The competitions will run in parallel from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The cultural performances will begin at 5 PM.
IAGB has partnered with One World Cuisine to serve a variety of Indian food items at the event. , Also, similar to every year, attendees will be able to browse and purchase Indian and related merchandise and services from a host of vendors from across the New England Area in one place.
IAGB Republic Day Mela continues to draw a lot of attention across the community, IAGB said in a statement.
“To date, over 140 entries have been submitted for the various competitions and over 40 entries were received for the cultural segment,” the statement said. “The RD Mela is a great opportunity for sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors to reach out to a larger Indian community.”
