Hindustani Classical Vocalists Rajan and Sajan Misra to Perform in Boston in April

LEXINGTON, MA—Renowned Hindustani classical vocalists Rajan and Sajan Misra will perform in Boston in April in a series of concerts from April 13 through April 15. The concert is brought to Boston by Lexington, MA-based Shadaj Baithak in Collaboration with MIT’s Heritage of the Arts of South Asia, known as MITHAS.

The program is dubbed as “Bhairav Se Bhairavi Tak.”

“Pandit Rajan Sajan Misra will take the audience on this unique journey of unfolding the correlation between the raga’s, nature and time cycle through a series of concerts and music appreciation session,” Shadaj said in a stetement

Pandit Rajan and Pandit Sajan Misra, the inimitable duo of Indian Classical music are among the top most Indian Classical Vocalists today, with a distinguished lineage.

They commenced their tutelage at a very tender age from the doyens of Banaras Gharana, their father and uncle, Pandit Hanuman Prasad Misra and Pandit Gopal Misra respectively.

“Their mellifluous voice conveys the aesthetics of music in a lucid earthy manner, combined with masterly command over the techniques.” Shadaj said. “The intricate creative process makes their rendering both academically rich and melodically abounding. Their music religiously observes the purity of raga and is gifted with rare sensitivity,”

Honored recipients of prestigious Padmabhushan Award and many more, Pandit Rajan-Sajan Misra have delighted audiences all over the world.   “When we sing, we are one soul singing , even though we are in two bodies” the brothers has been quoted as saying.
