NEW DELHI, India — World leaders from across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East are set to attend the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.

According to the ministry, the summit will be anchored in three guiding “sutras” — People, Planet, and Progress — which reflect India’s framework for international cooperation on artificial intelligence.

The five-day event is expected to bring together global leaders, policymakers, innovators, and technology experts to discuss the future direction of artificial intelligence and its impact on societies and economies worldwide.

Among the leaders scheduled to attend are French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Several other heads of government and state are also expected in New Delhi at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The list includes the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Mauritius, as well as the presidents of Spain, Estonia, Switzerland, and Slovakia. Leaders from Abu Dhabi, Croatia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, and other countries are also slated to participate.

Vice presidents from Bolivia, Guyana, Serbia, and Seychelles are among those scheduled to attend the summit, highlighting the broad international representation expected at the event.

The ministry said ministerial delegations from more than 45 countries will also take part, alongside the United Nations Secretary-General and senior officials from several international organizations.

The summit will coincide with a series of high-level bilateral engagements. The foreign ministry previously announced that President Macron will arrive in India on February 17 for an official visit, during which he and Prime Minister Modi are expected to hold talks aimed at strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors under the Horizon 2047 roadmap. Macron is scheduled to participate in the AI Impact Summit on February 19.

Brazilian President Lula is set to visit India on a state visit from February 18 to 22 and will take part in the summit sessions on February 19 and 20.

The India–AI Impact Summit is being positioned as a major global platform for shaping international dialogue on artificial intelligence, with a focus on inclusive growth, sustainability, and long-term technological progress. (Source: IANS)
