Dulquer Salmaan Sings New Track ‘Loser’ From Upcoming Film ‘I’m Game’
Chennai — Actor Dulquer Salmaan has turned singer for “Loser,” a new song from his upcoming action thriller “I’m Game,” which was released Thursday.
The track, composed by Jakes Bejoy with lyrics by Suhail Koya, offers a playful look at the film’s characters while celebrating the imperfect and unconventional.
“It’s a song that celebrates losers, and I think it’s kind of fun. I also got to sing it,” Salmaan said.
The song also provides a glimpse of Salmaan’s character in the film, whom the actor described as very different from himself.
“I get to play a character who is quite a brat in this movie, which is very unlike me. Hopefully, by the end of the movie, I redeem myself and win you back,” he said.
Salmaan also shared the song on social media, noting that it has been released in multiple languages.
“No matter the language, the vibe hits the same! The LOSER SONG from I’M GAME is officially OUT NOW in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada!” he wrote.
“I’m Game” is scheduled to hit theaters Sept. 3 after its original Aug. 20 release date was postponed.
Announcing the delay earlier, Salmaan said the change was intended to give the film a wider theatrical rollout.
“The game gets bigger. The release gets wider. We understand the anticipation and we apologize for the delay, but #imgame will now release worldwide on 3rd September, moving from its earlier release date of 20th August,” he said.
He added that the film will be released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada as part of an effort to reach a larger audience.
Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, “I’m Game” marks Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema. The production involved an 11-month shoot spanning 156 days and more than 100 locations across South India.
The film also stars Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan. Bejoy composed the music, while Anbariv Masters choreographed the action sequences.
