BOSTON — Dr. Rajendra M. Trivedi, MD, a respected psychiatrist, educator, and longtime advocate for community health and wellness, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 82.
A former member of the Board of Trustees of the Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE) and a devoted community volunteer, Dr. Trivedi dedicated more than five decades to advancing medical care, education, and integrative health in Massachusetts and beyond.
Dr. Trivedi was born and educated in India. He graduated from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India, in 1968, and completed postgraduate training in Neurosurgery at KEM Hospital. As a Czech Government Scholar, he continued his training in Neurological Surgery at Charles University in Prague.
In 1971, Dr. Trivedi immigrated to the United States, where he pursued Psychiatry, completing his training at Cambridge Hospital and Harvard University. He later served as a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard University, and established a private practice dedicated to compassionate, integrative patient care.
Throughout his career, Dr. Trivedi made invaluable contributions to the medical and local communities. He served as a Trustee of IMANE, a Patron Member of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), and participated actively in several committees of the Massachusetts Medical Society, where he also served as Delegate for the Middlesex District.
He generously shared his expertise as Medical Advisor for Yoga East and the Anand Shanti Yoga Center, and for many years, along with his wife, Dr. Geeta Trivedi, provided free community medical services at the CCA and Pain Center in Stoneham, MA since 1971. Dr. Trivedi also served as Medical Director of the Shri Dwarkamai Wellness Center, where he was instrumental in promoting Integrated Medicine—combining traditional and holistic approaches for overall well-being.
He was a Life Member of the Blind People’s Association (BPA) in Ahmedabad and remained deeply connected to his cultural and spiritual roots through active involvement with Sri Laxmi Temple (Ashland, MA) and the Satsang Center Hindu Temple (Woburn, MA).
Dr. Trivedi is survived by his beloved wife Geeta, and their children Jagdeep & Heena, Rageen & Monica, and Dhaval; and grandchildren Dharma, Dhruv, Nikhil, and Divya. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family: Bhanoo Trivedi; Jitendra, Harsh & Hemali Trivedi & Family; Aparna & Vijay Shah; Devang & Kathi Shah & Family; Shivani Shah & Joe Fazio; Regina & Manan Shukla & Family; Vivek & Parul Trivedi & Family; Parul & Bimal Shukla & Family; and Rupal Trivedi & Harish Hande & Family.
A funeral service honoring Dr. Trivedi’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Carrier Family Funeral Home, Windham, NH. A private cremation ceremony for family members will follow.

Dr. Rajendra M. Trivedi will be remembered as a healer, teacher, and humanitarian whose life exemplified selfless service, compassion, and devotion to both his profession and his community. His impact will continue to inspire generations to come.
