WALTHAM, MA—Since Megha Desai took over as president of Burlington, MA-based Desai Foundation about two-and-a-half-years ago, the foundation has increased its size and activities several fold. On Saturday, Desai Foundation will host its annual fundraising gala Lotus Festival at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, home to six-time Superbowl champions the New England Patriots.

This one-of-a-kind evening of food, drinks, entertainment and fundraising will give attendees an exclusive insider’s look at the Desai Foundation’s current work and future goals empowering women and children through community programs in both India and the U.S.
Comedian Nick Stevens, fondly known to Bostonians by his persona “Fitzy the Supahfan”, will host this year’s Lotus Festival, which features cocktails overlooking the field, a seated dinner, live auction, inspirational speakers and unforgettable entertainment, the statement said.
By the end of the night, the Desai Foundation hopes to get closer to its goal of reaching 1 million lives. Since the organizations shift to a public non-profit means that it relies on the donations and grants from the public.
The Desai Foundation continue to expand its work through its community programs, such as health camps that have served thousands of children, its top-performing science school, and vocational training programs that teach villagers employable skills. The Desai Foundation’s most all-encompassing program is its Asani Sanitary Napkin Program, which trains rural women to manufacture and distribute high-quality, low-cost sanitary napkins throughout their communities.
The Desai Foundation has already impacted the lives of over 680,000 lives in India and the US and is now aiming to hit the 1,000,000 mark.
