Boston’s first Indian and fusion culinary contest “Cuisinier” set for Saturday

MAYANRD, MA—Greater Boston’s first Indian and fusion culinary contest “Cuisinier” will be held on Saturday in Maynard, MA.

Organized by Calcutta Club USA, Cuisinier provides a platform for all non-professional food lovers and cooks to demonstrate their skills in creating and presenting one item which they have mastered or invented, organizers said. In the process, the contestant develops confidence and has a lot of fun in an encouraging environment.

The program will feature two segments – Live cooking contest, broken down into an appetizer, main course and dessert round, as well an overall Recipe Contest. The latter is for participants who would not like to cook on the spot, but can bring their favorite dish cooked from home for display and evaluation.

The event will is sponsored by several local businesses from the Greater Boston Area. All are welcome to attend for free with prior registration. While there will be a panel of experienced judges, some segments of the competition will solicit public voting.

It’ll be a unique opportunity for Maynard citizens to experience the preparation of Asian recipe and try out Indian delicacies offered by top restaurants of the region. A winners and runner trophy and awards from sponsors will be given to successful contestants, organizers of the event said.

Key organizers of the event are husban-wife team of Ruma and Chitro Neogy.
