Sridevi is encyclopedia of acting: Vidya

Mumbai– National Award-winning actress Vidya Balan says Sridevi is an “encyclopedia of acting”. Post-watching Anil Kapoor and Sridevi-starrer “Mr. India” after many years again, Vidya went on a praising spree for the team of the 1987 cult classic.

Vidya tweeted: “Kamra… Kamre ke aage balcony… balcony ke aage garden… garden ke aage samandar… Watching the encyclopedia of acting… Sridevi.” “Yes, we love you Mr. India. Anil Kapoor is all heart… makes you believe in goodness and innocence… so genuine,” she added.

Vidya also praised the film’s director Shekhar Kapur. She wrote: “Shekhar Kapur directs children the best… au naturelle! I just realised two of my all-time favourite films are his… ‘Mr.India’ and ‘Masoom’.”

 

Arshad Warsi’s wife completes ‘half marathon’

Actor Arshad Warsi’s wife Maria Goretti, who is known for her anchoring, acting and cooking skills, has added another feather to her cap. She went on to participate in the half marathon category of Mumbai Marathon 2016 for the first time and completed it.

Maria shared on Instagram a text message which read: “Dear Maria Warsi, congratulations! You have finished your Half Marathon run in 02:12:56.” Arshad took to Twitter on Sunday to congratulate her.

“So my rock star wife, after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, being a certified deep sea diver, is now a marathon runner. Well done @mariagorettiz,” Arshad tweeted. “VJ, actor, chef, author, mountain climber, deep sea diver, marathon runner, wife, mother, friend. That’s @mariagorettiz for you,” he added. The couple got married in February 1999.

 

Sonakshi takes ‘Twitter break’

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, an active user of social networking sites, has decided to take a break from Twitter. The “Dabangg” actress took to the micro-blogging site to share the news with her fans.

“Sometimes to connect with yourself you need to disconnect from the world! Twitter break,” she tweeted to her six million followers on Sunday. The actress is also active on Facebook and Instagram. On the film front, Sonkashi has movies like “Akira” and “Force 2” in her kitty.

 

Big B is the best showstopper: Neha Dhupia

Mumbai– Actress and former Miss India Neha Dhupia feels megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the “best showstopper ever”. Neha, who attended Vikram Phadnis’s fashion show where Amitabh walked in the final piece created by the designer, couldn’t stop praising the 73-year-old actor.

“The best showstopper ever. #amitabhbachchan. It does not get better than seeing him on the ramp! Congratulations @vikramphadnis #25years and counting. #legend #respect #icon,” Neha captioned a video, which she shared on Instagram, in which the “Piku” star can be seen sashaying down the ramp.

The fashion show was organised to celebrate Phadnis’s 25 years in the fashion industry. Amitabh also took to Twitter to share photographs of the event. “A day in the life of AB. Endorsement shoot in the early morning. Then walking ramp for Vikram Fadnis,” he wrote.

Amitabh was joined by his wife Jaya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Nanda at the event. Celebrities like Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Juhi Chawla, Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita Lokhande, Malaika Arora Khan, Boman Irani, Sooraj Pancholi, Zarina Wahab and Ayushmann Khurrana also attended the event.

 

I keep rat repellant in my car: Nimrat Kaur

Actress Nimrat Kaur says she keeps rat repellent in her car to protect her vehicle. “I always keep a rat repellent in my car because in Mumbai, rats are used to getting into the engines of these expensive cars. Someone told me about it and also that they chew the wiring of the car,” Nimrat said on the show “Yaar Mera Superstar”, which airs on Zoom.

The actress, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film “Airlift”, says she doesn’t “want to take a chance, I take precautions”, read a statement.

 

Merry-go-rounds make Akshay uncomfortable

Actor Akshay Kumar, who is popular for performing jaw-dropping stunts and action sequences in Bollywood films, doesn’t enjoy taking the merry-go-rounds amusement ride. He confessed about it on Zoom channel’s show “Yaar Mera Superstar”, read a statement.

“Not that I have not sat on merry-go-rounds, but my head starts spinning. I’m actually scared of the ride,” he said. On the films front, he will be seen in “Airlift” – inspired by the evacuation of Indians who were based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.

 

Hrithik injured on ‘Mohenjo Daro’ sets

Mumbai–Actor Hrithik Roshan, who was filming an action scene for his upcoming film “Mohenjo Daro”, says he had “a lovely fall” and tore a ligament. “Had a lovely fall today (Saturday). Tore a ligament. Curious about how I am going to have a fun time healing and working next few weeks. #imagination #makeitwork,” Hrithik tweeted.

The “Krrish” star has been reportedly advised bed rest for minimum two weeks. Ashutosh Gowariker had earlier shared that he is impressed with Hrithik’s stunts in his forthcoming directorial “Mohenjo Daro”. “He is pushing all limits to perform the gruelling stunts,” the director said last year.

“Mohenjo Daro” is an epic love story set in the era of the Indus Valley civilization. It will see Hrithik romancing debutant Pooja Hegde.

 

Big B motivates Nawazuddin

Mumbai–Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is sharing screen space with Big B in “Te3n”, says working with the megastar is a motivation in itself.

 

“Truly amazed by the character played by #SrBachchan in #Te3n. This is the reason we regard you as the best #respect #motivation,” Nawazuddin tweeted. Sonam Kapoor flaunts Kunal Rawal creation yet again

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who will next be seen on the screen in “Neerja”, flaunted a creation by designer Kunal Rawal at the Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Bravery Awards.

 

The “Khoobsurat” actress, known for her experimental sartorial taste, wore an off-white kurta, a bandhgala jacket and pants for the event in Chandigarh earlier this week. The creation was an example of Rawal’s foray into designing unisex collections, and gave Sonam a simplistic look

 

Aditya, Katrina enjoy bonfire in Delhi

To beat the winter chill in Delhi, actor Aditya Roy Kapur arranged for a small bonfire for his “Fitoor” co-star Katrina Kaif.

The two actors were in the city to launch the song “Pashmina” at the Lodhi Gardens here on Friday when the temperature dipping considerably. Katrina donned an off-shoulder purple dress on the cold evening, and it was only perfect to have a ‘sighri’ giving out some warmth to her.

FIR against Nawazuddin Siddiqui for manhandling woman
Mumvai– A police complaint was registered on Sunday against Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui by a woman residing in his housing society alleging that the actor pushed her and behaved inappropriately during a dispute over parking space.

Heena Sheikh, 24-year-old daughter of Soni Dandekar, the chairperson of the Zohra Aghadi Nagar housing society at Yari Road, filed the complaint at the Versova police station saying she was manhandled by Nawazuddin’s bodyguards. “I have been living here since 1994 and he shifted here just a year back and he has captured the parking slot,” Dandekar told IANS.

“We sent him many notices and even told him ‘you are the flat owner, but this outside property is not yours’, but he never acknowledged our complaints.” “Today, when my daughter went to click photographs of the parking slot captured by Nawazuddin, he along with his brother and support staff manhandled her and pushed her. So we immediately went to the police station to file a complaint against him,” she said.
