Mumbai– Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has been roped in as the brand ambassador for snack brand Kurkure, says it is imperative to celebrate progressive thinking amongst women as it has kept them motivated to break barriers.
The snack brand has come up with a new tagline “Khayal toh Chatpata hai”, which celebrates progressive thinking that young Indian homemakers bring in to traditional Indian families.
“Indian homemakers have been strong torch bearers for bringing about progressive changes in their family lives and the society at large. I strongly believe that it is imperative to celebrate this progressive thinking amongst women, that has kept them motivated to break barriers and pursue careers and passions,” Taapsee said in a statement.
Abhishek celebrates Big B’s 50 years in Bollywood
Mumbai– As Amitabh Bachchan completed his 50 years in the Hindi film industry on Friday, his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan celebrates the “talent and brilliance” of the megastar.
Abhishek took Instagram to pen down a heartfelt post for his father on his 50 glorious years in Bollywood. The “Yuva” actor also shared a photograph of himself wearing a sweatshirt with a print of Amitabh’s photograph on it.
“Icon! To me, he is so much more. My father, best friend, guide, best critic, greatest support, idol – hero! 50 years today he started his journey in films. Even today, his passion and love for his craft and work is the same as I’m sure it was on the first day.
“Dearest Pa, today we celebrate you, your talent, your passion, your brilliance and your immense influence,” he wrote alongside the image.
The 43-year-old actor said he cannot wait to see what the 76-year-old thespian has in store for the “next 50 years”.
“The coolest thing he taught me today… As I went, in the morning to wish him for completing 50 years of being an actor and to tell him that I was leaving for work – I asked him ‘where he was all ready to go to?’ He said – to work’,” he wrote.
Esha is the best combination of Hema Malini, Dharmendra: Ram Kamal Mukherjee
Mumbai– “Cakewalk” director Ram Kamal Mukherjee says actress Esha Deol Takhtani has inherited great talent from her parents and actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra.
“Esha and Hema Malini are different individuals, but at the end of the day Esha is Hemaji’s daughter. When I see her in the monitor, her eyes, her smile, grace in her body language reminds me of young Hema Malini,” Mukherjee told IANS.
“At the same time, she is the daughter of Dharmendraji. That’s why she has that strong physique. I would say, Esha is the best combination of both of her parents,” he added.
Mukherjee was happy to work with Esha in the short film “Cakewalk”.
Armaan Tahil joins cast of ‘Mere Sai’
Mumbai– Actor Armaan Tahil has joined the cast of the show “Mere Sai”.
“I have done many negative roles in various shows but for the first time, I’ll be playing a negative character who stays in a village and rides a bullock cart,” Armaan said in a statement.
“I’ll be playing Girdhari who goes to Shirdi to destroy Tatya’s vegetable business,” added the actor, who has worked in shows like “Tu Aashiqui” and “Naamkarann”.
He will steal Tatya’s vegetables and run away. But before he ends up committing a worse crime, Sai Baba (actor Abeer Soofi) will explain to him the importance of the rightful path, read a statement from Sony Entertainment Television.
Jeetendra, Jaya Prada to reunite on-screen
Mumbai– Veteran actors Jeetendra and Jaya Prada, who have acted together in over 20 films, will reunite on-screen, this time for a TV show.
The stars will be coming soon as special guests on “Super Dancer Chapter 3”. The contestants of the show will be performing on their popular songs from the 1980s and 1990s, read a statement from Sony Entertainment Television.
“I am very excited to see the talented kids of ‘Super Dancer’ perform. It’s amazing to see dance evolve so beautifully through these kids,” Jaya said in a statement.
Jeetendra is excited to be part of the show.
“My grandson Laksshya is equally energetic and enthusiastic like these ‘Super Dancer’ contestants,” he added.
Need to have thick skin to survive in film industry: Manoj Bajpayee
Mumbai– National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee says one needs to develop a thick skin to survive in the film industry.
“We need to have thick skin to survive in the film industry. I have spent quite some time here, and have realised that you get friends usually with success and they go away during your tough days,” Manoj said.
The actor on Friday opened up about the mantra to survive in the industry during an interactive session with Sushant Singh, actor and general secretary of CINTAA, at the ActFest.
Looking back at how people treated him during his struggling days, the “Aligarh” actor said: “One of my friends invited me for his film’s premiere where media was also present to click photographs of celebrities. They saw me and one photographer said ‘he is not important, don’t take his photograph’.”(IANS)
