SRK urges people to support acid attack victims

Mumbai– Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who is known for supporting acid attack victims through his Meer Foundation, urges his fans to lend support to such brave survivors.

The “Baazigar” actor on Wednesday took to his Instagram to upload a video sharing a powerful message for all.

In the video, he is seen saying, “Beauty is not skin deep, is often said but not really felt. We all need well, but we look away, we shy away from looking at things that are unpleasant, yet we want social acceptance for ourselves, we discriminate from inside, yet we fight for empowerment, yes we all need well, but we do look away.”

Shah Rukh’s Meer Foundation that has been established to provide support to acid attack survivors through medical treatment, legal aid, rehabilitation and vocational training, has also teamed up with Vogue and Hothur Foundation to make acid attack victims free from all the social evils and heartless acts of violence and discrimination.

Waited for 20 years to work with Vikram Bhatt: Rohit Roy

Mumbai– Actor Rohit Roy is glad to be able to work with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and says that he was waiting for this opportunity for 20 years.

Rohit has been appreciated for his role as Siddharth Sareen in the web series “Memories”, which has been directed by Bhatt.

He revealed how long he has waited to work with the director.

“I have waited for 20 years to work with him. I used to go and meet him often when I was doing the television show ‘Swabhiman’ when Bhatt was working on films,” said Rohit in a statement.

“I’m glad that after two decades, it happened with the web series Memories,” he added.

Acting has finally made me beautiful: Rajkummar

Mumbai– National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao feels that acting has finally made him beautiful as well.

The actor has received many awards for his work in films like “Bareilly Ki Barfi”, “Newton” and “Shahid”.

On Wednesday, he bagged ‘Man of the Moment’ award at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018.

Excited about it, Rajkummar said in a statement: “While I won several awards last year and this year for acting, I think acting has finally made me beautiful as well with this Vogue Beauty Award.”

“It means a lot. I would like to dedicate this award to my parents for all the support, encouragement and all the hardships that they have faced to make me who I am,” he added.

Rajkummar has films “Fanney Khan”, “Stree” and “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” in his kitty.

Vivek Oberoi urges people not to do ‘Kiki challenge’

Mumbai– Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi has urged everyone to not do the ‘Kiki challenge’ as it can claim innocent lives.

The ‘Kiki challenge’ shows a video of people inspired by rapper Drake’s number “In my feelings”, stepping out of moving cars and dancing.

“The video I had shared earlier turned out to be fake, but what was shown in it is what everyone doing the ‘Kiki Challenge’ is prone to. Please refrain from doing this horrible challenge that can take innocent lives, think about the ones who love you, your life is precious! Say no to Kiki,” Vivek tweeted.

The daring challenge even has the police on high alert as they sent out worried tweets and advisories.

The Uttar Pradesh, police sent out a tweet on Monday: “Dear Parents, whether Kiki loves your child or not, we are sure you do! So please stand by your kids in all the challenges in life except Kiki challenge.”

Neelu Vaghela to play lawyer in TV show

Mumbai– Actress Neelu Vaghela, best known for playing Bhabho in “Diya Aur Baati Hum”, will be seen as a lawyer in the upcoming TV show titled “Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo”.

“I will be an integral part of ‘Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo’. My character’s name is Satya Devi and she is a woman of today’s age who is educated. She is a lawyer,” Neelu said in a statement.

“I have not played such roles in the past. I’m sure the audience will love my character,” added the former “Nach Baliye” contestant.

The show will soon premiere on Sony Entertainment Television.

After ‘Bareilly…’, Swati Semwal to feature with Rajkummar again

Mumbai– Swati Semwal, who played Kriti Sanon’s friend Rama in “Bareilly Ki Barfi”, will share the screen space with Rajkummar Rao once again in “Fanney Khan”. She says she will be seen in a bold and modern avatar.

“In ‘Fanney Khan’, I am playing the role of an upcoming actress. This character is very different from the sweet, girl-next-door character I played in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. Here I will be seen in a bold modern avatar opposite Rajkummar Rao,” Swati said in a statement.

“It was fun working with Rajkummar again and being a part of a good film with Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. You feel elated when you see your hard work paying off,” added Swati.

Swati is also a filmmaker.

Commenting on her directorial project “Sameera – The Unusual – Unconditional Love Trilogy”, which released on Sony LIV on Monday, Swati said: “It is a short movie written and directed by me. I play the character of a Muslim painter named ‘Sameera’ who is in her late 20s and is deeply immersed in love with someone”.
