Salman takes Da-Bangg tour to Nepal
Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khans Da-Bangg Tour, which has entertained the Indian diaspora in London, Hong Kong, Auckland and Melbourne, is now all set to take place in Nepal.
“Nepal ab aap ki baari swag se swagat nahi karoge hamara. (It’s now your turn Nepal. Would you not welcome us?) Dabangg The Tour Nepal. Bollywood, Tundikhel, Sohail Khan” Salman tweeted on Wednesday.
The event will see Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon, Prabhudheva, Daisy Shah, Meet Bros and Manish Paul joining Salman on March 10 at Tundikhel, Kathmandu.
The tour’s last stop was in New Delhi in December 2017 where the stars shook-a-leg-on peppy numbers like “Mujhse shadi karogi”, “Garam chai ki pyali ho”, “Munni Badnam”, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” and “Swag se swagat”.
Mir Sarwar happy to finally work with Neeraj Pandey
Mumbai– Actor Mir Sarwar, who lost the chance to work with director Neeraj Pandey in the film “Naam Shabana”, says it was great to team up with the “cool-headed” person for “Aiyaary”.
“I am playing an army officer in the film (‘Aiyaary’). It’s a different one from all the characters that I have played so far. I wish to show some variation to the audience. It is important to change the image of an actor,” Mir, who has featured in films like “Phantom”, and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, said in a statement to IANS.
“It was great to work with (director) Neeraj Pandey for the first time. I have always liked his films and wanted to part of his film. I got an opportunity in 2016 for the film ‘Naam Shabana’ but it clashed with the dates of Mani Ratnam’s film Kaatru Veliyidai and unfortunately, couldn’t do it,” he added.
Hailing Pandey as a “cool-headed person”, the actor said: “It was great to see him explain the nuances of each move and line. I am lucky to be a part of this film and I have grown as an actor.”
On sharing screen space with actors Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra, Mir said: “It was great to work with Manoj and Sidharth. Manoj is an amazing actor. You can learn so much from him.”
Wrestler to play negative role in Karan Johar’s film
Mumbai– Actor-wrestler Saurav Gurjar, known for portraying Bheem and Ravan on the small screen, is set to make his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. He will play a negative role in “Brahmastra”, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
Asked about his character in the film, Saurav said in a statement: “I will be seen playing a negative role. It’s a modern-day film set in India. But the reason it’s called ‘Brahmastra’ is because the energies, wisdom and powers in the film come from ancient India.”
“‘Brahmastra’ is a weapon of Hindu God Brahma, who is called the creator of universe, and hence is considered quite powerful,” he added.
Saurav is currently in Florida, US for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) training.
“I am thankful to WWE for giving me the permission and allowing me to do the film,” he said.
Saurav will start shooting for the film by early next month.
“Brahmastra” is a three-part fantasy adventure movie.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the first part of the franchise will arrive in theatres on August 15, 2019.
Abhishek Bachchan’s Twitter account hacked
Mumbai– Actor Abhishek Bachchan’s Twitter account was on Wednesday hacked by pro-Pakistani Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim, which had earlier hacked veteran actor Anupam Kher’s Twitter account.
As a result of the hacking, the verification tick on Abhishek’s Twitter account vanished, and his cover photograph featured a missile that read “Ayyildiz Tim” in chalk.
Abhishek’s profile also had several tweets in Turkish.
Twitter said in an official post: “Our teams are working to resolve an issue affecting a small number of Indian users. We will notify affected account holders directly. Reminder: do not click on links in DMs coming from unknown accounts.”
On Tuesday, it emerged that the Twitter accounts of Anupam, RSS leader and BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and senior Indian journalist and Member of Parliament Swapan Dasgupta were hacked.
After his account was restored, Anupam sent out an advisory to his followers.
“To everyone on Twitter: Please don’t open any link sent on your direct messages, however genuine they appear. That is the tool hackers are using to hack into your account. Please share this message with as many people as you can. Thanks.”
Actor Jeetendra’s cousin claims he sexually assaulted her when she was 18
Shimla– Veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra was on Wednesday accused of sexually harassing his cousin, who has come forward to file a police complaint 47 years after the alleged incident.
Jeetendra, whose real name is Ravi Kapoor, is the son of the victim’s father’s sister.
The victim made the allegation in a police complaint filed with Himachal Pradesh’s Director General of Police. A copy of the complaint is with IANS.
As per the complaint, the incident took place in January 1971, when the victim was 18 and Jeetendra was 28. It happened when he “arranged” for the victim to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the set of his movie without the complainant’s “awareness”.
The victim has claimed that on the night they reached Shimla, Jeetendra returned to the room in an inebriated state, joined the two separate beds and sexually assaulted her.
The allegation comes amid the #MeToo campaign as part of which women have come out about facing sexual abuse at the hands of powerful men. While several ladies have accused Hollywood’s powerful men, the Hindi film industry — while admitting the prevalence of abuse — have not named and shamed as openly.
Jeetendra, now 75, is a well-known name in the Hindi film industry. He is also a film producer, and has daughter Ekta and son Tusshar with wife Shobhaa. (IANS)
