I used to flirt with my teacher: Salman Khan
Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan says he used to flirt a lot with his school teacher.
While shooting for the upcoming episode of “Dus Ka Dum – Dumdaar Weekend”, Salman discussed his flirting history.
When a question was asked about Indians falling in love for the first time with their school teacher, Salman said he used to flirt with his teacher when he was in school, read a statement.
He also admitted that he used to drop his school teacher home on a bicycle and even removed the carrier to ensure that he got the teacher to sit in front of him.
“It is impossible for someone to not have a crush on their teacher. Most people won’t admit it, but I openly say that I used to flirt a lot with my teacher,” said Salman.
Small town people find happiness in small things: Shraddha Kapoor
Mumbai– Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who visited the Madhya Pradesh town of Chanderi while filming for the movie “Stree”, says the vibe of the place was heart-warming as she felt that people in small towns don’t run after materialistic things.
The film “Stree” revolves around a female ghost who exists in Chanderi town. To maintain the authenticity of the story, director Amar Kaushik took the cast and crew there.
On the experience, Shraddha told IANS: “I was so excited to go there in Chanderi, especially the fort area where I shot the film. Chanderi is a small town and the vibe of the place is so easy. Living in Mumbai, we are always running after deadlines and our life revolves around work.”
“People there (in Chanderi) are really simple and not in hurry. They really have a life after work. Maybe people of small town are not so wealthy, neither do they have the high materialistic desire, but I think they really know how to find happiness from small things that we urban people do not even notice,” she added with a smile.
In Chanderi, which is known for its saris, Shraddha went on a shopping spree.
“After our shooting got over, I went out for shopping and bought so many chanderi saris for my family members. I do not wear a lot of saris, but I bought some for myself as well. We all know how famous Chanderi saris are, and they are really beautiful,” she said.
Kajol lights up screen when she’s there: Neha Dhupia
Mumbai– Actress Neha Dhupia says her “Helicopter Eela” co-star Kajol is phenomenal and lights up the screen.
Neha will be seen in a special role alongside Kajol and Riddhi Sen in the forthcoming film.
“I feel there are only a few people who are meant to be on-screen and Kajol is definitely one such person. She lights up the screen when she is there,” Neha said in a statement.
“It wouldn’t be fair if I say I am not a fan of hers. There is nobody in the entire nation or anybody who follows Bollywood who is not a Kajol fan. She is phenomenal. She is beautiful and she makes it look so easy on the screen,” she added.
“Helicopter Eela”, presented by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada (Pen), is set to release on September 7.
Arjun Rampal, Siddhanth Kapoor’s chanting days
Mumbai– Actor Siddhanth Kapoor says while shooting for the forthcoming war film “Paltan” in Ladakh, he and his co-star Arjun Rampal made it a routine to visit a stupa on a daily basis for chanting.
“When you shoot for a war film, there is a very different kind of tension on the sets. Also when you are at 14,000 feet above sea level, all you want is strength and peace. The stupas in Ladakh are beautiful and very energising. Arjun and I made it a point to visit it daily for chants,” Siddhanth said in a statement.
They would go there in the morning before shooting for the film. The J.P. Dutta directorial will hit the screens in September.
Govind Namdev to feature in family drama
Mumbai– Actor Govind Namdev, who has featured in films like “Bandit Queen”, “Virasat” and “Satya”, will feature in a family drama titled “Time Nahi Hai” directed by Manoj Sharma.
“This is a beautiful film with a much-needed concept on the current society. It shows how we are forgetting values of our family and by avoiding these things, we hurt our parents and forefathers. Through this film, we are showing how to balance between two generations,” Govind said in a statement.
“I am playing tauji (uncle) of a family in the film. He is respected in the society but is very strict. He never shows his emotions in front of people,” he added.
The film also stars Krushna Abhishek, Rajniesh Duggall and Yuvika Choudhary.
Vivek was ‘destined’ to do film with Shiva
Mumbai– Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi feels that he was destined to do a film with Kannada movie star Shiva Rajkumar.
Vivek will be seen playing the role of a police officer in “Rustum”, also starring Shiva. This will be Vivek’s Kannada film debut.
“I think I was destined to do a film with Shiva anna and I think it will definitely turn out to be one of the great and memorable experiences of my career. That’s why I decided to do a special appearance in the film,” Vivek, who has featured in films like “Company”, “Saathiya” and “Omkara”, said in a statement.
According to a source, when Vivek was 16 or 17 years old, he met Shiva for the first time when he was shooting here.
“Vivek went to meet him on his film set with a family friend. He was the first one who offered a film to Vivek. Even though Vivek politely declined since he was not ready for his acting debut then, he was extremely touched by Shiva Rajkumar’s kind gesture,” shared the source.
“Vivek always stands by his friends and never forgets things they do for him. So the moment he was told it’s Shiva’s film, he didn’t even hear the script and immediately agreed to be part of it,” the source added.
Radhika, Jim to turn showstoppers for designer Punit Balana
Mumbai– Actors Radhika Apte and Jim Sarbh will be seen walking the runway for designer Punit Balana at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week’s Winter-Festive edition.
Known for focusing on local techniques and art, Balana’s line ‘Gulabi Chowk’ is inspired by the art of Amer Fort in Jaipur. The fashion gala will be held in Mumbai from August 22 to August 26. And Balana will showcase the collection on the last day of the gala.
“My personal style statement is all about comfort and Punit’s festive collection is all about looking stylish while being comfortable,” Radhika said in a statement.
The designer is also entering into menswear with the range.
“I like Punit’s design sensibilities and when he told me he was launching his men’s line and would want me to unveil it at Lakme Fashion Week, I was into it. The name of the collection ‘Gulabi Chowk’ is interesting and I wondered how his style would translate for men’s clothing,” Jim added.
The collection is designed using Jaipur’s traditional Sanganeri hand block printing technique.
Talking about the line, Balana said: “It is the first time probably that a designer will be showcasing an Indian festive women’s line with a men’s line which is very quirky with a tinge of street style.”
Huma didn’t care about working with Khans on arrival in Bollywood
New Delhi– Actress Huma Qureshi says she never dreamt about working with the popular Khans of Bollywood when she arrived in Mumbai as for her, being part of one film mattered to her the most.
On Tata Sky Acting Adda, Huma got into a conversation with her first casting director Mukesh Chhabra on “Chhabra ka Dabra”, a show on which Bollywood celebrities talk about their journey.
During the show, Chhabra asked if she dreamt of wanting to work with the Khans of the industry, said a statement.
The “Badlapur” actress said: “It honestly did not matter who I worked with when I arrived in Bombay. I just wanted to be a part of one film, any one film would do for me.”
She reminisced how she was advised to first get into good commercials to get noticed by film directors.
Following the advice, Huma got to act in television commercials alongside stars like Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and many other big names of the industry.
She recalled how her first time on the set left her baffled. But thanks to her experience as a stage actor, she had immense confidence while performing and even got noticed for her debut film “Gangs of Wasseypur”, that won her awards.
Sunny Singh, Vikrant start their ‘Yaar Jigri’ journey
New Delhi– Actor Vikrant Massey and Sunny Singh of “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” fame have started shooting for “Yaar Jigri” here.
The RSVP’s film went on floors on Friday. “Yaar Jigri” is helmed by debutant director Amit Joshi.
“I’m quite excited and anxious about the shoot. Both Sunny and Vikrant are fabulous actors. I would also like to thank RSVP for entrusting me with this opportunity,” Joshi said in a statement.
A ‘bro-mance’ story, the film talks about friendship set against the backdrop of four different locations.
Shooting at jail gave us chills: Deepak Kalra
Mumbai– Actor Deepak Kalra says shooting at a real jail gave the actors of the upcoming series “Banned” chills.
One of the major scenes in “Banned” was shot at a real jail.
“That is a shoot memory for life. Shooting at a real jail gave all us actors chills because the atmosphere there is something different. We were actually kept in a unit with prisoners,” Deepak said in a statement.”
“The entire sequence gave us the real feeling of a criminal. Such experiences in life are a must for any actor and I am thankful to have gone through this scene. While people cherish their romantic or dramatic shoots, I have this memorable sequence for life with great learning, stored in,” he added.
