Rishi Kapoor excited about ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’
Mumbai– Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor loved the trailer of Anupam Kher-Akshaye Khanna starrer “The Accidental Prime Minister”, and says the film seems to be “political yet interesting”.
“What a wonderful trailer of a film promising to be political yet interesting. Anupam Kher, your passion for your craft is what I hope you teach at your film school. And how smashing does our Akshaye Khanna look! Congratulations beforehand,” Rishi posted on Twitter on Friday.
The trailer released on Thursday.
Anupam will be seen playing the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the film, which is based on a book by Sanjaya Baru, a former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Akshaye features as Baru and Divya Seth Shah plays Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur in the movie.
It is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte along with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer. The film also features Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi.
The political drama, scheduled to release on January 11 next year, has already raised political temperatures with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) latching on to it to hit out at the Gandhi family, while the Congress has questioned the BJP’s motive behind “promoting the film” and raised objections to the “incorrect presentation of the facts” in the film.
Mukesh Tiwari excited about ‘Band Baja Bandh Darwaza’
Mumbai– Actor Mukesh Tiwari is excited about stepping into the genre of horror-comedy on the small screen with the show “Band Baja Bandh Darwaza”.
In the Sony SAB show, the actor will be seen as a ghost of Sanjeev Sharma, who haunts a family for his personal vengeance.
“I am very excited to explore the genre of horror-comedy with ‘Band Baja Bandh Darwaza’,” Mukesh said in a statement.
“As an actor, I have tried to do unique roles with different shades, and so taking up this show was an easy choice. I’m looking forward to entertaining the audiences with this hilarious new show,” he added.
“Band Baja Bandh Darwaza” tells the tale of Sanjeev Sharma who returns as a ghost in the life of his long lost love after 25 years.
Ranveer doesn’t have superstar attitude: Chandan
Mumbai– Comedian Chandan Prabhakar says that Ranveer Singh is a superstar, but he doesn’t behave like one.
Chandan recently shot with Ranveer for “The Kapil Sharma Show”.
“Ranveer Singh is a superstar, but he doesn’t behave like one. He behaved as if he was my relative. He doesn’t have the superstar attitude. So, even I didn’t feel conscious because I didn’t feel that I was standing next to a big Bollywood star,” Chandan said in a statement.
“He behaved just like a brother. He was extremely sweet with us and so was Sara (Ali Khan) who despite having a lineage, was very down-to-earth and warm. The way they gelled with us, helped us in giving our best.”
Talking about the show’s first episode, he said: “You will see me take a dig at Kapil, teasing him with Deepika Padukone and how she is now married to Ranveer. We went a step ahead by creating a ‘shayari’ on Kapil’s condition to irritate him.”
“The Kapil Sharma Show” will premiere on Saturday on Sony Entertainment Television.
I’m yet to get my due: Parveen Kaur
Mumbai– Actress Parveen Kaur, who has featured in shows like “Kundali Bhagya”, “Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat” and “Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki”, says despite being in the industry for long, she is yet to get her due and recognition.
“Even after doing innumerable shows on TV, I still have not got the kind of recognition that I could have got earlier. It is a mean world, but one can’t really complain much. Some of my colleagues who started with me have made it big by now,” Parveen said in a statement.
“I think for any actor, to be established or recognised, one good role with good screen presence is all that is required. However, the scenario has changed now and it is more about the younger lot that is more prominent on screen.
“We senior actors come with an experience value which sometimes goes unnoticed. At least in films, they get their dues and recognition, which unfortunately happened to only a ‘bunchful’ in the TV world,” she added.
She is currently playing a mother in the TV show “Ladies Special”.
Photography lets you see unnoticed things: Suyyash Rai
Mumbai– Actor-singer Suyyash Rai, also a professional photographer, says that photography has taught him to see unnoticed things in life.
“It has taught me to see unnoticed things in life. Through photography, we can capture those subjects which we can’t touch but can feel,” the “Bob marley” hitmaker said in a statement.
“How sun sets, how the colours play on water and how the look of the sand changes as the sun lowers, all these aspects are much more evident in a picture, and we can concentrate on the overall view while knowing that the individual components will not be vanished,” he added.
He also feels that photography helps in “bringing people closer to nature”.
Suyyash, who started his journey from youth shows like “Roadies” and “Splitsvilla”, also acted in TV shows “Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani” and “Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai… Ajab Sa Risk Hai”. (IANS)
