Radhika, who will be seen in the forthcoming film “Andhadhun”, was announced ambassador for a botanical hair tonic brand here on Monday.

Having starred in “Sacred Games”, “Ghoul” and “Lust Stories”, Radhika said: “I personally feel that digital platform has really generated a lot of employment and really good content and it has various reasons for that.

“It doesn’t have censorship and of course, the format of web series is very different from the format of films. So, it has great advantages and because of that, a viewer has the choice to watch something at home as well as something in theatres.”

Asked whether the growing popularity of the digital platform can pose a threat to full-length feature films, she said: “I think certain films will still run and I hope they do because I love cinema.”

“Andhadhun”, releasing on October 5, is a mystery thriller film directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. It is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures.

‘Welcome Back’ actress Ankita to make TV debut

Mumbai– Actress Ankita Srivastava, who featured in the 2015 movie “Welcome Back”, is set to make her TV debut with Anirudh Pathak’s forthcoming show “Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali”.

Ankita will play a character named Firdaus.

“Firdaus is a courtesan who believes in falling in love with status rather than the person. I play a very crucial role in the love story between Prince Salim and Anarkali. This is the first time that I am trying my hand at television. The look and feel of the character is very challenging,” Ankita said in a statement.

“I know it is an unusual path to make my debut on TV, but for me, character satisfaction is of utmost priority. The makers have made sure that while I carry my bold image as Firdaus, I bring elegance along with it. Firdaus is a charmer and extremely pretty. I am looking forward to start shooting for the show,” she added.
