Priyanka Chopra welcomes Unicef chief in India

Mumbai– Bollywood actress and global Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights Priyanka Chopra has welcomed Unicef Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore on her maiden trip in India.

“As part of Unicef’s continued global efforts to make the world a better place for children, Unicef Executive Director Henrietta Fore is visiting India for the first time. Welcome Unicef Chief, so glad to have you here and I hope your visit is a good and productive one,” Priyanka tweeted on Wednesday.

Priyanka has worked with Unicef since 2006 and was appointed as the national and global Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010 and 2016, respectively. She promotes various causes such as environment, health and education, and women’s rights and is particularly vocal about gender equality and feminism.

On the acting front, the “Mary Kom” actress is shooting for Shonali Bose’s “The Sky Is Pink” with Farhan Akhtar. She is currently in Jodhpur with fiance Nick Jonas, and some of her friends.

Saif, daughter Sara to appear together in ‘Koffee with Karan’

Mumbai– Actor Saif Ali Khan and daughter Sara are set to add to the glitz and glamour of “Koffee with Karan” with their appearance in Season 6.

The forthcoming season, hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, will premiere on Star World on October 21.

The official Instagram account of Dharma Movies also posted a picture of father- daughter duo.

“This father-daughter duo is bound to put the couch on fire with unlimited wit and style. And hey, Sara Ali Khan making her ‘Kofffee with Karan’ debut,” reads the caption.

His chat show is hugely popular as he gets his celebrity friends and fraternity members to open up about their lives in an up, close and personal way.

Bhumika Gurung can’t get enough of Delhi

New Delhi– Actress Bhumika Gurung, who was born here and had to shift base to Mumbai due to work, says she can’t get enough of Delhi.

“I am super excited to be in Delhi because this place is very close to my heart. I was born here and did my schooling in this beautiful city, so coming back is like refreshing all my childhood memories,” Bhumika said in a statement.

“I have come here as a chief guest for the Mrs. India Queen 2018 in Karnal. It’s a great honour for me. At the moment, I feel like I can never get enough of Delhi. There are so many places that I wanted to visit, but have to return back to Mumbai and resume shoot. But definitely, I won’t miss out on Delhi’s speciality ‘banta’ and my favourite momos. I just love Delhi and the food here,” she added.

Bhumika is currently busy playing the lead role in the show “Nimki Mukhiya”.

Rasika Dugal to do show on forgotten authors of India

Mumbai– Actress Rasika Dugal aims to do a series on the forgotten authors of India and says it is important that their thoughts and stories be kept alive with the youth of the country.

“While preparing and promoting ‘Manto’, I realised that there are so many people who are eager to share what they have read and what resonated with them about ‘Manto’ and others who have been inspired to read ‘Manto’ after getting to know about the film

“There is a wealth of literature from that time, from ‘Manto’ and so many of his contemporaries – Ismat Chugtai, Krishan Chandar, Rajinder Singh Bedi and so many more. I think it is important that their thoughts and stories be kept alive with the youth,” Rasika said in a statement.

The 33-year-old’s latest big screen outing was in “Manto” alongside actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Ayushmann is best actor, says brother Aparshakti

Mumbai– Actor Aparshakti Khurana says his brother Ayushmann is the best actor.

Aparshakti is blown away with Ayushmann’s performance in his latest release “Andhadhun”.

“This guy next to me is not only the best brother in the world, but also the best actor… Bhaiya I am totally blown away with your performance,” Aparshakti tweeted along with a photograph in which he features with the “Vicky Donor” actor.

Ayushmann also lauded his “awesomely talented” brother and his performance in “Stree”.

“And your best is yet to come. I’m so proud of you,” he wrote.

“Andhadhun”, which features Ayushmann as a blind piano artist, is a romantic thriller directed by Sriram Raghavan. It also stars Tabu and Radhika Apte in other lead roles. (IANS)
