Priyanka Chopra’s pre-wedding celebrations begin
New York– Priyanka Chopra’s friends and family hosted a bridal shower for the Bollywood actress ahead of her wedding with pop singer Nick Jonas here.
Held on Sunday night, Priyanka looked ravishing in an ivory Marchesa dress paired with nude
coloured stilettos and a Tiffany & Co. choker. She was seen standing next to silver coloured balloons which read: “Bride”.
The photograph was shared by Mimi Cuttrell, who styled Priyanka for the bridal shower and captioned it: “The bride… The brighter version for everyone. “Priyanka Chopra… (Sorry I was too excited when I posted the first picture).
The actress, 36 shared a photograph of herself on her Instagram stories while getting her hair and make-up for the celebration.
She captioned it: “My girls are in town! Any reason to party. Pre-wedding celebrations.”
Priyanka and Nick are reportedly getting married at Rajasthan’s Mehrangarh Fort in December.
The two got engaged in August in a traditional Roka ceremony at her residence in Mumbai.
Kajol to endorse hair colour brand
Mumbai– Actress Kajol has been roped in as ambassador for hair colouring brand Super Vasmol 33 Kesh Kala, which has been relaunched by Hygienic Research Institute Private Limited (HRIPL).
The actress will be seen in the brand’s new advertising campaign ‘Yahi hai Sahi Hair Colour’, which restages the brand as new, improved and relevant to today’s evolved consumers and younger demographic.
Kajol said she is glad to be associated with the brand, which “has been offering its customers, credible hair colouring solutions for decades”.
“The best part is that with changing times, it is renovating itself, upgrading and getting better by the day to offer solutions that are relevant to today’s hair colouring needs,” she said in a statement.
The product’s unique appeal lies in its mixture of herbs and oil like properties that beautify hair giving it its natural looking black colour.
HRIPL’s Joint Managing Director Ashish K. Chhabra, Kajol’s “charismatic persona” was an ideal fit with the brand as her “mindful and thoughtful personality is looked upon by the audiences across genders and age-groups”.
Kriti Kharbanda spends a working birthday
Mumbai– Actress Kriti Kharbanda, who turned 28 on Monday, spent her birthday shooting for “Housefull 4”.
“It’s been a great year and I’m grateful to God for being so kind and the audience for showering their love and support. I’ll be shooting all day for ‘Housefull 4’ on my birthday but no complaints,” Kriti said in a statement.
This year, the actress has had releases like “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se”, and she is always on the lookout for challenging opportunities.
Kriti will celebrate her special day with close friends once she wraps up her work for the day.
Arjun Rampal bereaved, grateful for love, support
Mumbai– Actor Arjun Rampal, who has lost his mother to cancer, on Monday thanked his family members and close friends for being a pillar of love and support throughout.
His mother Gwen died on October 27 after battling cancer. Arjun performed the last rites on Sunday with his close ones by his side.
Thanking people for giving his mother “extra years” with their love and prayers, Arjun wrote on Instagram: “After a long and successful fight my mother fought with her cancer, she breathed her last on October 27. In the time of our grievance, I just know that I have many people to thank and be grateful to.
“Thank you all the faculty and doctors. My dearest family, friends and all of you who have prayed for her. Your support and your love has been felt deep within. I am forever grateful. My mother is at peace. RIP Ma. Love you all. Thank you.”
Arjun’s daughters, and rumoured girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades, as well as his filmmaker friend Abhishek Kapoor paid their last respects at the funeral.
Aamir’s ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ look a potpourri of various elements
Mumbai– “Thugs Of Hindostan” costume designers Rushi and Manoshi say superstar Aamir Khan’s character Firangi in the film is a potpourri of different elements and identities stolen from the myriad people he meets.
Talking about Aamir’s look in the movie, Rushi said: “Firangi is a potpourri of different elements and identities stolen from the myriad people he meets.
“He loves his name and lives up to it with his top hat and his choice of foreign booze, which also are incidentally stolen from people. He wears an English leather tail coat in a jade colour, the colour of a chameleon.”
Manoshi added: “Like a magpie, he loves collecting things that shine to his eyes. He has a chatelaine belt from which he hangs his favourite glinting belongings. A rose-tinted sun-glass, an ornate leather canteen of water, a mismatched pair of boots and a ‘potli’ full of tricks, beware of the charmer, Firangi Mallah.”
Aamir too was minutely involved in the research and design.
The actor said in a statement: “”For Firangi, what we figured is that other than the dhoti that he wears, everything else is robbed from someone! Whether it’s his hat, sunglasses, shoes, jacket, everything has been flicked.”
Slated to release on November 8, the movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry’ to release in Hindi, English, Tamil
Mumbai– Actor R. Madhavan’s upcoming film “Rocketry – The Nambi Effect”, on the life of scientist and aerospace engineer S. Nambi Narayanan, will release in Hindi, English and Tamil.
Madhavan on Monday took to Instagram to share a video in which he said: “There are many personal stories in the world you would have heard about and many more you have no clue about. But there are a few stories knowing nothing about which means that you know very little about your nation.
“Nambi Narayanan’s story is one such story. Because when you hear this man’s story, and see his achievements, then I promise you will never be able to stay slient. ‘Rocketry – The Nambi Effect’… For those who don’t know will be aware and for those who think they know this will be a revelation.”
As a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Narayanan was in-charge of the cryogenics division. In 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested. The charges against him were dismissed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) in 1996, and the Supreme Court of India declared him not guilty in 1998.
Rohit Sharma to pair opposite Hina Khan in ‘Kasautii..’
Mumbai– Actor Rohit Sharma, who has worked in TV serials like “Vikram Betaal Ki Rahsya Gaatha” and “Sadda Haq”, will now feature in the “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” reboot.
Rohit will be paired opposite actress Hina Khan, who is playing the role of Komolika in the show.
“I’ll be seen playing the role of Gaurav who is a positive guy. Pairing opposite Hina Khan is a big responsibility and comes with a lot of pressure. For now, it’s a cameo but a prominent one which will definitely leave an impact,” Rohit said in a statement.
Rohit has earlier worked with Balaji Telefilms in “Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki”, and is now happy to reunite with the production for “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”.
He said: “The production is just like a family for me. Working with them has been a golden experience. I’m thankful to Ekta ma’am that she got me a chance to play a powerful role.” (IANS)
