Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan share a Diwali feast
Mumbai– Bollywood besties Neha Dhupia and Soha Ali Khan are in the mood to treat their sweet tooth when they get together ahead of Diwali for a festive feast.
“Diwali is a beautiful festival and every year we celebrate this occasion with our near and dear ones,” Soha, 41, told IANS.
Actresses Neha and Soha are known to celebrate life’s important moments together, from birthdays to dinner parties.
On Thursday, Soha posted on Instagram a special, nutritious recipe of carrot kheer that she prepared for Neha, who usually avoids too many calories.
“Everyone indulges during Diwali. No one can escape the grandeur of the festival — be it the celebrations or the feasts. But I like adding a healthy twist to my food during the festival as well,” she explained, adding that the dish was prepared using Quaker Oats.
Dressed in ethnic attire, Neha was seen thanking Soha on social media, for letting her indulge without guilt.
“I generally follow a simple diet and fitness regime. I eat a lot of good quality carbohydrates, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. But everyone tends to indulge a bit during the festive time, and it’s the same with me. However, I try to make it as healthy as possible,” Neha, 39, shared with IANS.
Woking with Big B on ‘Chehre’ was surreal: Siddhanth Kapoor
Mumbai– Actor Siddhanth Kapoor, who will be seen sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in “Chehre”, is all praises for the megastar.
” ‘Chehre’ is one of the important projects (for me). It’s a crazy and intense film, and so is my role. I had a surreal experiencne working with Amitabh (Bachchan) sir,” Siddhanth told IANS.
Directed by Rumi Jafferey, the thriller also features Emraan Hashmi, Kriti Kharbanda, Rhea Chakraborty and Annu Kapoor in important roles.
Apart from “Chehre”, Siddhanth recently featured along with Prateik Babbar in the film “#Yaaram”.
He considered “#Yaaram” as one of his special films because the film gave him a chance to work with his childhood friend Prateik.
“It was fun shooting with him (Prateik). He is my childhood friend. We both share a strong bond. So, everything went very smooth on the set,” Siddhanth added.
Kunal Kapoor feels celebs should use their power for good cause
New Delhi– Actor Kunal Kapoor feels that if celebrities, who have millions of admirers, can endorse colas, clothes and cars, then its important to use that reach for a good cause too.
It’s been seven years since he co-founded the crowdfunding platform Ketto.
“At Ketto we try and raise money for pretty much everything, from disaster relief, NGOs, for patients who need money for treatments, for filmmakers wanting to make a film or a dancer who needs it for his or her art. It’s a wide spectrum we cater to,” Kunal told IANS.
For him, crowdfunding is a very powerful tool.
“It is democratisation of the capital. Going forward what I think would be exciting for us would be raising money for scientific breakthroughs, research, infrastructure projects or things that the government or industrialists aren’t able to provide bandwidth to.
“If people can come together to raise funds for disaster relief, there is no reason why people won’t come together for scientific breakthroughs or infrastructure projects or research and development etc. That according to me would be very exciting,” said the “Rang De Basanti” actor.
Should all the celebrities use their power to spread awareness about something significant that affects people?
“Absolutely! I feel as celebrities if you can endorse colas, sell clothes and cars, then it’s important to use that reach for a good cause. As celebrities, you have the power to reach out to people and I think it’s important to use that power with certain responsibility as well,” said Kunal.
John, Ileana ‘had a blast’ recreating Salman-Kajol hit song
Mumbai– Actress Ileana D’Cruz was nervous about recreating the popular Salman Khan and Kajol song “Tum par hum hai atke yaara”, from 1998 superhit “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”. Therecreated song was filmed on Ileana and her co-star John Abraham for the upcoming comedy, “Pagalpanti”.
“Recreating a classic is always met with a certain kind of expectation, and I was definitely nervous. But shooting with Ganesh Acharya (who also choreographed the original) made it so much easier,” Ileana said, adding: “He (Acharya) made the entire song so much fun that John and I were completely relaxed during the shoot. We had a blast.”
The song has recreated by Tanishk Bagchi, penned by Sabbir Ahmed, and sung by Mika and Neha Kakkar. It has been shot in London.
Added John: “This song is one of my favourites and I thoroughly enjoyed dancing to it.”
“Pagalpanti” director Anees Bazmee said that the song will bring back the magic “that Salman and Kajol” had created.
“I love it how John has performed in this song and I feel there should be more such songs with him in it as the audience will love it. It’s a definite add on to the movie and the young generation will love this when they dance to it in the clubs,” he added.
Rajkummar Rao: Prefer to focus only on acting in coming years
Mumbai– Rajkummar Rao’s new film “Made In China” opens in the Diwali weekend, and the actor says he prefer remaining an actor in the coming years, and has no plans to take up filmmaking or politics, unlike what many of his colleagues have been doing.
“I will prefer being an actor in the coming years because it’s my first love. I feel blessed that I became an actor and I have fulfilled my dream, so I am very happy and am not thinking of anything else,” Rajkummar said, while interacting with the media at a special screening of “Made In China” on Wednesday in Mumbai.
The film opens on October 25 with two other films — “Housefull 4” and “Saand Ki Aankh”. Talking about the clash, Rajkummar said: “Diwali is a big weekend. I think we are very large country and people like to watch films, especially on Diwali. We all feel we should go out with our family or friends, so I want all films to do well and I wish all the best to the makers of those films.”
“Made In China” tells the story of a young Gujarati businessman, who is struggling to make his mark and finds a freak formula to success.
“As actors, we have two jobs. The first is to make a film. Then, the most hectic job is to promote it. We have done our responsibility. We have tried to make an honest film. I have seen the film and I really like it. We are proud of it. Now, it’s all in your (the audience) hands. I am pretty sure that whenever you watch the film, you will have a lot of fun,” said Rajkummar, about “Made In China”.
Sunny Leone surprised by Nawazuddin’s dancing skills
Mumbai– Actress Sunny Leone says she was surprised with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s dancing skills while working on the song “Battiyan bujhaado”.
The song will feature in Nawazuddin’s upcoming “Motichoor Chaknachoor”. It is composed by Ramji Gulati, who also sings the song with Jyotica Tangri.
“I was hooked to the soundtrack from the very first time I heard it. A catchy tune, that really grows on you, ‘Battiyan bujhaado’ is a full-blown dance song, that will surely be on every party’s playlist. And shooting the song with Nawaz, with whom I am sharing a screen for the first time, was an extremely enjoyable experience,” Sunny said.
“He has quite surprised me with how sporting and fun he can be at dancing, on and off-screen, which the audience will see when the song launches today,” she added.
“Motichoor Chaknachoor” is about a young NRI husband-obsessed bride and a desperate groom Pushpinder (Nawazuddin).
Kiara Advani: Never thought I would work in horror comedy genre
Mumbai– Actress Kiara Advani has two films in the horror comedy genre coming up over the next months. She will be seen with Akshay Kumar in “Laxmmi Bomb” and also in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, which co-stars Kartik Aaryan.
“I never thought I would work in this (horror-comedy) genre but after ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ now there is ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. These are both very different films, so I am really excited,” said Kiara, interacting with the media on Wednesday in Mumbai.
On “Laxmmi Bomb”, her horror comedy with Akshay Kumar, she said: “We are putting our best foot forward and we hope to make it a crackling entertainer, because I am sure the expectations will be high. I am a huge fan of Akshay (Kumar) sir’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. That was the first horror-comedy film that I ever watched.”
Kartik Aaryan essays the starring role in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, and Kiara informs the unit has started shooting for the film. “We have started shooting for the film because the mahurat which we got was really auspicious and it was a super amazing day of shoot. I am really excited to start shooting for the film again. I am really excited to work with (director) Anees (Bazmee) sir and Kartik (Aaryan), and take the franchise forward. It is going to be really hilarious film and the script is beautifully written,” she said, addressing the media at the 15th edition of Asia Spa Awards 2019.(IANS)
