Mexico City– Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif, who turned 36 on Tuesday, is living it up on the beaches of Mexico.

The actress took to Instagram to share a photograph that captures her posing in a white swimsuit on the serene beaches.

She captioned the image with her birthday cake, the Mexican flag and heart emojis.

Netizens including her friends from film fraternity flooded Kagtrina with birthday wishes and blessings on Tuesday, but it was the actress’ friend, actor Arjun Kapoor, whose witty quip garnered attention.

“You have basically gone on a photo shoot. Okay, on your birthday I shall be nice to you Katrina. Have a super birthday, you are a mad kind kind goofy soul and I love you because of your nonsense not despite it…. (sic),” Arjun posted on social media.

Shweta Bachchan Nanda called the actress “gorgeous” while Madhuri Dixit tweeted: “Happy birthday. Stay beautiful and wonderful always. Lots of love and best wishes.”

Farah Khan, who recently choreographed Katrina in the recreated version of the “Tip tip barsa paani” for the upcoming Sooryavanshi, posted a heartfelt message. “Happiest birthday Katrina Kaif. Angels fly because they take themselves lightly. Go spread your wings this year baby. Love you,” Farah wrote alongside an image of herself with Katrina.

Divya Dutta to share secrets of happiness

New Delhi– Actress-author Divya Dutta is all set to share with fans her secrets to stay happy and contended in life.

At a book launch here later this week, the talented Divya will be seen engaging in a serious conversation about life and how to try and overcome hurdles.

The event, slated for July 18, will see Divya launch life coach Gaur Gopal Das’ book “Life’s Amazing Secrets”, which has been translated in Hindi.

The launch will be followed by a conversation between the authors.

“I feel honoured. An author-to-author conversation with him (Das) is something I look forward to,” Divya said.

Interestingly, the actress’s book “Me and Ma” is also being translated in Hindi this year.

For Divya, spirituality is important. “In today’s day and age when life has become complicated, spirituality is important. Just being in conversation with yourself, seeking happiness inside you and being okay within your skin can have a magical impact on your life,” she said.

Acting lets you forget who you are: Sara Ali Khan

Mumbai– Actress Sara Ali Khan, who wooed fans with her radiating presence in the films “Kedarnath” and “Simmba” last year, says she wants to do “everything” on screen.

Sara Ali Khan in Kedarnath

“(I would like to do ) everything! People say that and sometimes they don’t know what they are asking for but I think, having shot ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Simmba’, and having experienced the different opportunities and demands these films came with, I know I love them both equally. I would love to work on a period film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I would love to do an urban relatable film, romantic comedies, commercial masala movies — perhaps even try action and thriller,” Sara said.

After doing two films, she will be seen in the sequel of Imtiaz Ali’s “Love Aaj Kal”.

Sharing her Bollywood experience so far, Sara, daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, said acting “enabled me to feel and do things that I don’t feel or do on a daily basis”.

“The most exciting is that you forget who you are, between action and cut. You attempt to do justice to somebody else’s life and somebody else’s story and somebody else’s character, and that becomes you,” she added.

“This way, profession allows us to live so many lives and have so many experiences that we wouldn’t have been able to on our own. Whether it was ‘Kedarnath’ or ‘Simmba’, acting enabled me to feel and do things I don’t feel or do on a daily basis. Some of these experiences and emotions remain etched in our hearts forever,” she said.

Why Shah Rukh saw ‘The Lion King’ 40 times

Mumbai– Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he has seen “The Lion King” 40 times because of his children.

“We started watching ‘The Lion King’ when it came out. Obviously, we had three kids at different intervals. We would make pizzas or dosas or whatever the kids liked, and create a movie theatre atmosphere at home and watch Lion King,” Shah Rukh said.

“I have seen it for 40 times at least. Maybe not the whole film but every now and then when my kids watched it,” he added.

SRK and his son Aryan have lent their voices for King Mufasa and his son Simba respectively in the Hindi version of Disney’s upcoming live-action film “The Lion King”.

For SRK, it is a film he watches when he is clueless about what to watch with his children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.

“Actually, when you don’t know what to show your child, you say let’s watch ‘The Lion King’ together. We have spent a lot of time in a self-created bedroom theatre at home, with the kids at various stages. Even now, when we all want to watch a film together on a holiday or somewhere, chances are it will be ‘The Lion King’ or ‘The Jungle Book’,” he added.

Would love to do a web series: Gautam Rode

Mumbai– Actor Gautam Rode is a popular name in the television circuit. He has also done movies in the past and made his debut in theatre. He now wants to challenge himself by entering the digital domain.

“I have never wanted to repeat myself. Not only because we all want to be doing something new, but (because) I get bored with monotony. I like having a new challenge to tackle because that gives me an adrenaline rush. While there are a few shows of my play ‘Aarohi’ still left, I am also in talks for a few web series,” said Gautam.

“I would love to experiment with the web next. The OTT platform is very different and I like the idea of having a finite script catering to a different audience. We have been watching how the West has created some revolutionary shows,” he added.

Gautam is also impressed with the content available on the digital platform in India.

“I recently saw ‘Delhi Crime’ and loved the show. I am looking forward to trying out one more medium soon, in a completely different avatar,” said the “Saraswatichandra” actor.

Want to collaborate with Asha Bhosle: Arjun Kanungo

New Delhi– New-age singer Arjun Kanungo, who rose to fame with the foot-tapping number “Baaki baatein peene baad”, says he wants to collaborate with veteran singer Asha Bhosle.

Kanungo, who has sung Bollywood numbers such as “Khoon choos le” in “Go Goa Gona” and “La la la” in “Baazaar”, was discovered by Asha. He was a guitarist in the veteran singer’s band.

“I would love to collaborate with Ashaji. She is an inspiration to me and one of my mentor. The amount of things I got to learn while being on tour with her is outstanding and I would love to be given a chance to work with her,” Kanungo told IANS.

The 28-year-old singer loves pop music and says there is more of the pop genre in Bollywood.

“Every song that you listen to has an element of the aesthetic principles of pop music. We have commercial hook lines and great voices that essentially define what pop is all about. Other than the fact, in pop music the artist gets to be the face of their own video, so that to me is the differentiating factor between Bollywood (songs) and pop (videos),” he said.

Kanungo feels eventually all pop songs become Bollywood songs once they become hits.

Ever since his debut in the industry in 2013, Kanungo has belted out several singles such as “Fursat”, “Ek dafaa”, “Tu na mera” and “Aaya na tu” — all supported with interesting videos featuring him.

Ayushmann, Taapsee my favourites: Anubhav Sinha

Mumbai– After delivering the critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful ‘Article 15’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is gearing up for his next movie with his “Mulk” heroine actress Taapsee Pannu. Sinha says he considers both these actors his favourites and he loves them dearly.

“I am making a film with Taapsee next. We will start shooting next month. I have to mention that Taapsee and Ayushmann are my favourite actors — or stars, whatever you call them. I love them. Our thought processes are in sync with one another,” Anubhav told IANS.

Asked if he is more interested in working with talented actors than stars, Anubhav promptly replied: “Show me an actor in the recent past who has five hits in a row? Ayush is a star and so is Taapsee!”

“Article 15” was released on June 28 and since then the film has not only received positive critical response but has also won over the audience, thereby collecting big box-office numbers.

Want to do more Hindi films: Priya Prakash Varrier

Mumbai– Actress Priya Prakash Varrier, who will soon make her Bollywood debut with “Sridevi Bungalow”, has said that she is keen to do more Hindi films in the future.

“I have actually signed a second movie in Hindi called “Love Hackers”. It is about cyber crime. As far as working in more Hindi films is concerned, if good offers come my way then I will definitely love to do them,” said Priya, while interacting with the media on the sets of “Sridevi Bungalow’ on Monday in Mumbai.

Priya Prakash Varrier became a social media sensation after her wink in a song of the Malayalam film “Oru Adaar Love” went viral. She became a household name for her wink.

Asked if she would like to shed her image of the Wink Girl, she said: “Definitely I would. That was my first movie and the wink gave me a lot of publicity because everybody liked it. However, if I go on repeating (that action), people will start questioning it. So, I want to do more films and improve myself as an actor.”

Prasanth Mambully’s “Sridevi Bungalow” generated controversy a while back when producer Boney Kapoor, husband of late superstar Sridevi, sent a legal notice to the makers of the film, objecting to the film’s title as well as a scene that reportedly shows a character named Sridevi’s death in a bathtub, much the same way the eighties actress Sridevi died in February 2018.
