Katrina Kaif wants to get into production

Mumbai– Actress Katrina Kaif says she is excited about developing content, and wants to become a producer.

The actress opened up about broadening her horizon in the filmmaking industry when she appeared in an episode of Voot’s “Feet Up with the Stars Season 2”, read a statement.

When the host Anaita Shroff Adajania asked her about her future plans, Katrina said she wants to become a producer.

“I am excited about developing content. I want to become a producer, and I want to take ownership,” she said, going on to congratulate Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone for having created production companies of their own.

On the film front, Katrina will next be seen in Salman Khan-starrer “Bharat”. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean film “Ode To My Father”. It is produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. She will essay the role of Kumud Raina.

Introducing her character on Instagram, Katrina wrote: “I had the most incredible time working on this character, the whole journey has been the most exciting for me yet…I can’t wait for everyone to see the film.”

Katrina has also been roped in for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s next, titled “Sooryavanshi” starring actor Akshay Kumar.

Sara Ali Khan takes an auto for workout session

Mumbai– Don’t be surprised if you spot actress Sara Ali Khan sitting in an auto-rickshaw. She had no qualms about taking an auto ride to go for a workout session here.

Sara was seen getting out of an auto in Bandra here along with celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri.

In the video, which has surfaced on the social media, they can be seen sharing a laugh as Tanya takes the change from the auto- rickshaw driver.

For her workout session, Sara wore a ‘Pilates Girl’ slogan ganji top, paired with black shorts. She kept her hair loose with a simple hairband, and completed the look with a pink tote.

This is not the first time Sara took an auto in Mumbai. In February, she was seen taking an auto ride with Ananya Panday, and avoided media attention by hiding their faces.

On the film front, Sara will be seen in the remake of the 1995 comedy film “Coolie No. 1” and “Love Aaj Kal 2”.

Actress Ritu Shivpuri does cameo in ‘Nazar’

Mumbai– Actress Ritu Shivpuri is the latest entry in the supernatural show “Nazar”.

She has been roped in for a cameo role in the show.

“I play a supernatural being – Kohra (fog) who is also Ansh’s (actor Harsh Rajput) cousin, Neha’s (actress Resham P S) mother-in-law,” Ritu said in a statement.

“Kohra’s entry will bring some unexpected twists in the life of the Rathod family. Since I have never played a supernatural character before, I am excited and thrilled to play Kohra and bring out her uniqueness and distinctiveness,” she added.

Known for her performance in the popular 1993 movie “Aankhen”, she has also featured in shows like “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon” and “24”.

Rahman introduces lead actor of ’99 Songs’

Mumbai– Music maestro A.R. Rahman on Friday introduced Ehan Bhat as the lead actor of his upcoming film production “99 Songs”.

“Introducing the talented Ehan Bhat who marks his debut as the lead of ’99 Songs’. I hope you will shower him with as much love as I have received from you. Releasing worldwide in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on June 21,” Rahman tweeted.

Ehan will be seen playing a musician in the film.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better debut than ’99 Songs’. This is a dream come true. I am thankful to Rahman Sir and Jio studios,” Ehan said in a statement.

‘Dabangg 3’ set for Dec 20, may clash with ‘Brahmastra’

Mumbai– Salman Khan-starrer “Dabangg 3” has been locked for release on December 20, and it may clash with the first part of Karan Johar’s mega trilogy “Brahmastra”.

Salman made the announcement via social media in style by sharing a cropped photograph in which he is seen sporting a police uniform, and a badge that reads ‘Chulbul Pandey’ — the name of his popular character from the franchise.

“Chulbul is back…. ‘Dabangg 3’,” wrote Salman.

The action comedy has begun its shoot at various locations of Madhya Pradesh.

Being helmed by Prabhudheva, the film marks the second collaboration of Salman and the director. The two have previously worked together in “Wanted”.

The film, being produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Production, also stars Sonakshi Sinha, reprising her role of Rajjo.

While the makers of “Brahmastra” are yet to reveal a release date, producer Karan Johar had earlier said it will be a Christmas 2019 release. The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan.

‘Sadak 2’ demanded shooting in India: Pooja Bhatt

Mumbai– After days of recce in Romania, the makers of “Sadak 2” have decided to shoot the film in India.

Actress Pooja Bhatt, who starred in the original 1991 film “Sadak” and will also be a part of the sequel, took to Twitter to share the reasons behind the change in the shooting locations.

She said: “Romania is a stunningly beautiful country. We were very happy with the locations but logistics and emotional IQ of local crew are key factors in determining a location for a film.

“Eventually no one is bigger than a film and the film demanded we shoot only in India.”

“Sadak 2” will see filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt back in the director’s chair after almost twenty years. The film also features actors Alia Bhatt , Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur.

‘Aashiqui 2’ clocks 6 years, Shraddha sings ‘Tum hi ho’

Mumbai– As ‘Aashiqui 2’ clocked six years of its release on Friday, actress Shraddha Kapoor sang one of the popular songs ‘Tum hi ho’ from the film for her fans.

Shraddha took to Instagram to share a video in which she is seen singing soulful rendition of Arijit Singh’s song.

Along with the video, she thanked fans by writing “I am what I am because of you all”.

Directed by Mohit Suri, ‘Aashiqui 2’ also featured Aditya Roy Kapur. The film was based on the 1976 Hollywood film titled ‘A Star Is Born’.

The film garnered positive responses from the audience especially for its songs, and even crossed Rs 100 crore mark.

Celebrating six years of ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shradha, who played the role of Aarohi in the movie, even changed her Instagram username to Aarohi. (IANS)
