Hrithik Roshan begins preparing for ‘Super 30’

Mumbai– Actor Hrithik Roshan and the team of “Super 30” began preparing for the film on Monday.

Hrithik announced the news on his Twitter account on Monday, marking the occasion of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami.

He wrote: “On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami, I am beginning my journey of ‘Super 30’ where I am playing a teacher for the first time. May the Goddess of learning bless this effort.”

“Super 30” is a biopic on Anand Kumar (portrayed by Hrithik), who is a mathematics wiz and teaches 30 meritorious and talented candidates each year from economically backward sections for the entrance examination for the Indian Institute of Technology.

The team began its preparation on Monday while the filming will begin soon.

The film is slated to release in November this year.

Shooting for Dutt biopic wrapped up

Mumbai– The shooting for filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt has been wrapped up.

The makers shared a special video on Twitter to announce the wrap-up.

Hirani, along with actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and other cast and crew members are a part of the video, in which they say in unison: “Dutt’s the way, aha aha, I like it, aha aha.”

Ranbir, who plays Sanjay Dutt’s character, is also seen popping the champagne, whereas Sonam took to her social media page, sharing the happy moments while marking the last day of the shoot.

Ranbir will be seen playing the title role in the biopic. The film also features Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kaushal.

Presented by Fox Star Studios, the yet untitled Dutt biopic is co-produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani and is slated to release on June 29.

Salman launches ‘Welcome To New York’ trailer

Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan on Monday launched the trailer of the ensemble cast comedy “Welcome To New York” via his Twitter page.

Salman, in his inimitable style, wrote: “Ho gaya tum sab ka? Ye raha ‘Welcome To New York’ trailer (Are you guys done? Here’s the trailer).”

Producer Vashu Bhagnani thanked Salman for his support.

“Salman has been most gracious in believing in our film and supporting it. We believe the best way to entertain is through laughter and ‘Welcome To New York’ has tons of it. It’s an out-and-out laugh riot,” Bhagnani said in a statement.

Wiz Films’ Andre Timmins added: “We approached Salman to launch our film’s trailer and the generous person that he is, was more than happy to oblige.”

Featuring Karan Johar, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Rana Daggubati, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani, the entertainer is touted to be Bollywood’s first 3D comedy film.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is seen in the trailer and the makers will reveal even more stars’ presence in the days to come.

Director Chakri Toleti said in a statement: “We have an extraordinary cast in our film, but the beauty is how they complement each other. It was a pleasure working with such talented actors, as especially in comedy, timing is everything.”

The movie tells the story of two unlikely youngsters living in India in search of a better life for themselves. An unexpected trip to New York City sets them off on a comedic adventure that changes their lives forever.

It will release on February 23.

Ranveer calls Khilji a ‘monster’

Mumbai– Actor Ranveer Singh, ahead of the release of “Padmaavat”, shared a collage depicting various avatars of his character Alauddin Khilji, whom he described as a monster.

Ranveer tweeted the collage on Monday morning. It features various stills of the actor in Khilji’s role. “Monster. Khilji. ‘Padmaavat’,” Ranveer captioned the image.

“Padmaavat”, after a history of troubles, is finally releasing on January 25.

The film, featuring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The makers have said it’s a film Indians will be proud of.

No ghost writers, producers for my songs: Badshah

Mumbai– Rapper Badshah says there are no ghost writers or producers for his songs.

“You always see those dark circles around my eyes, you always hear me cribbing about my lack of sleep, that’s because I’m always working hard. Producing, writing, composing all by my own, no ghost writers or ghost producers. Taking care of my business. Try doing it,” Badshah tweeted on Sunday night.

Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh, just released his latest single “Kareja (Kare Ja)” on January 8. The “Mercy” rapper has sung numbers for films like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Bhoomi” and “Jazbaa”. (IANS)
