Diana Penty named Estée Lauder’s first India ambassador

New Delhi– Actress Diana Penty has been appointed the first India ambassador for global brand Estée Lauder.

The actress will feature in skin care and make-up campaigns across digital and in-store platforms and her first campaign for the brand will debut on December 11.

“It is an honour to be the first face for Estée Lauder in India. Being the first Indian woman to represent this iconic global brand is a dream come true. I think confidence and inner happiness makes one beautiful and I hope that I can inspire other young women to bring out the beauty in them,” Diana said in a statement.

According to Rohan Vaziralli, General Manager, Estée Lauder Companies India, Diana’s independence, confidence, sophistication and radiance reflect the modern Indian woman today.

Ali Fazal confirms ‘Mirzapur’ season 2

Mumbai– “Mirzapur” will have a second season, says actor Ali Fazal.

It will happen in 2019, said the actor who plays a gangster in the show.

On a possible season 2, Ali said in a statement: “Hopefully early next year. We are hoping to bring you back to the world of ‘Mirzapur’. So early next year we would, but before season 2, I have some film commitments to finish both her and abroad and yeah, then after that we will begin.”

“Mirzapur” is a nine-episode series produced under the banner Excel Entertainment. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Diveyndu Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shweta Tripathi.

On the movie front, he will be seen in “Arranged Marraige” directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

Marriage doesn’t stop actresses from getting lead roles: Shubhangi

Mumbai– Actress Shubhangi Atre, who is currently seen in TV show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!”, says she does not find marriage as a barrier in an actor’s career.

“Many times I read in interviews where actresses claim that they are not getting lead roles in shows because they are married and have a child. But I personally don’t believe in this,” Shubhangi said in a statement.

“I feel if we have talent, well maintained personality and a physique for a lead role, we can easily get them,” she added.

Shubhangi, who has earlier worked in shows like “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” and “Kasturi”, is a mother of a 12-year-old daughter.

“I’m playing a lead role. I was not even approached for a mother’s role. I feel blessed,” added the 37-year-old.

Film industry has woken up to importance of Digital India: Varun Dhawan

Mumbai– Actor Varun Dhawan says the Indian film industry is now harnessing the power of the Internet to reach the masses.

The “Badlapur” actor, who connects to his fans via social media frequently, received the Best Digital Personality of the Year Award at the Digital Marketers’ Awards by IAMAI and moneycontrol here on Wednesday, read a statement.

Varun then took to answering a few questions, talking about trolls, media personalities and about India going digital.

He said: “Most of the youth is on the Internet. In fact, when I was shooting for my film ‘Sui Dhaaga…’ in Chanderi, most televisions didn’t work and there were no cinemas. But everyone had high-speed internet, which is probably how they know me; through my songs and videos on YouTube.

“Digital India is way bigger than we think and our film industry has woken up to its importance and now uses it to reach out to the masses.”

On his favourite social media personality, he said: “It is ‘The Rock’, Dwayne Johnson. I think we all have something to learn from that man.”

Harshita Gaur in ‘Sacred Games’ season two

Mumbai– Actress Harshita Gaur has bagged a pivotal role in crime thriller “Sacred Games” season two.

According to a source, the casting of the show is almost done and Harshita is a part of it. “Shooting will continue throughout next month,” added the source.

“I am a part of ‘Sacred Games’ season two. However, I am not in a position to say anything on the character yet,” Harshita told IANS.

Harshita has become a popular face in the web series space. Her latest release “Mirzapur” is still streaming and she has been shooting for ALTBalaji’s “Punchbeat” as well. (IANS)
