I want to do better internationally: Anupam Kher
Mumbai– Veteran actor Anupam Kher says whenever he takes up an international film or series, he feels a sense of responsibility about representing India. So while he says he focuses on “good work” in India, he wants to do “better” outside.

The actor, 65, on Sunday had tweeted that he was travelling to Belfast, Ireland for the shoot of “Mrs Wilson”.
In an accompanying video, he said: “Have reached London and from here I got to Belfast for a series for BBC titled ‘Mrs Wilson’. It is a good role. Whenever I work for an international series or movie, then from within I feel I am representing India and I have to give my best.
“I have to do good work in India but outside, I want to do better.”
Anupam further wrote: “Whenever I am doing an international film or series, in my mind I feel I am officially representing my country and I have to give my bestest. I get a sense of extra responsibility. Desh ki bhi izzat ka sawaal hota hai (it’s a matter of my country’s prestige too)! Looking forward to a great experience. 515th project.”
Akshay praises Gadkari, Rathore for supporting sport talents
Mumbai– Actor Akshay Kumar has praised Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Rajyavardhan Rathore and badminton coach Pullela Gopichand for showcasing and supporting talent at a grassroot level.

The 50-year-old actor on Sunday night took to Twitter and shared a selfie with Minister for Road Transport and Highways Gadkari, Sports Minister Rathore and Chief National Coach of Indian Badminton team Gopichand from the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav.
“Kudos to Gadkariji for providing this platform, Rathoreji and Gopichand for their support. Hope it helps to bring more sporting talent to the forefront,” he captioned the image.
Rathore on Monday tweeted: “20 Games. 25,000 Players. One Aim. Victory! Happy to be at the opening of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, Nagpur’s grand multisport event where 540 teams will perform in 20 Games for a prize of Rs 62,82,200.

The “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” actor lauded Rathore for his efforts to encourage sports through the Khelo India initiative, which strengthens the sports ecosystem by encouraging mass participation and promotion of excellence.
On the acting front, Akshay currently has four films in his kitty — “Gold”, “2.0”, “Kesari” and “Mogul”
Big B remembers shooting at Tagore’s residence
Mumbai– On Rabindranath Tagore’s 157th birth anniversary on Monday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan went down memory lane remembering shooting at the Nobel laureate and poet’s residence and described it as “pious precincts”.

“It is Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary for the seventh of May and as I recollect I am driven to those moments at Thakur Badi (home) in Kolkata, my rendition of the National Anthem and its shooting inside the pious precincts of the residence of Tagore,” Amitabh, 75 wrote on his blog.
The cine icon said Tagore’s writings and contributions to art and literature are inspiring.
“His genius in his thoughts his writings and his contributions to the arts and literature are inspiring and legendary now, but as you travel through those doors and rooms of his place of residence you feel blessed that such a man walked the face of this earth. How does one acquire such wisdom.
“How does one acquire such writing… How does one acquire this sense of music…How does one acquire his artistry in its sketching, his creation of the Shanti Niketan and its wonders,” wrote the son of the celebrated writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
On the acting front, Amitabh’s film “102 Not Out” has just hit the big screen. The movie also stars veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
Sonam Kapoor celebrates sangeet in shades of white
Mumbai– Actress Sonam Kapoor was elegance personified as she chose to be in sync with the ‘shades of white’ dress code for her sangeet ceremony here on Monday evening, a day before her wedding to Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja.

Sonam wore a traditional dress that featured a heavily-embroidered gold blouse and ivory-gold lehena. She matched the dress with traditional jewellery — jadau neckpiece, maang-tika and jhumkas. Her hair was neatly done up in a long braid and adorned with a white garland.
The sangeet ceremony took place at the Sunteck Signature Island.
Several celebrities and close friends turned up at the function dressed in different shades of white.
While one of Sonam’s close friends and co-actress of “Veere Di Wedding” Swara Bhaskar flaunted her beautiful Manish Malhotra designed white and golden lehenga, father Anil Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan Kapoor looked dapper in white kurta pyjamas.
Her cousins Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Mohit Marwah with wife Antara, uncle Sanjay Kapoor and Bonny Kapoor, friends like Jacqueline Fernandez, Masaba Gupta, Shilpa Shetty, Karan Johar, Rani Mukherji, veteran actress Rekha and designer Kumal Rawal were also present.
Director Farah Khan, who has a huge leg injury, arrived with her three children.
Though media was not allowed to go inside, all the guests came out and greeted the photographers. Sonam’s fans will have to do with sneak peeks and videos shared by her friends and family on social media.
Sonam and Anand are to tie the knot on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The reception and wedding party will take place at The Leela in the evening.
Trolls affect Anusha, not me: Karan Kundrra
Bogmalo (Goa)– Actor Karan Kundrra says social media trolls don’t have any effect on him, but it affects his girlfriend and popular VJ Anusha Dandekar.

Karan and Anusha have been in a relationship for over three years. Anusha has been a victim of social media bullying and has also been slut-shamed online.
Asked if haters on social media platforms affect him, Karan told IANS here: “I don’t really care about these haters. They are completely low lives…sitting in a corner and writing. It shows that your frustration is coming out…I consider these trollers as dogs who just keep barking. They are mostly very frustrated people and I pity them.
Karan, who is currently busy with the shooting of the third season of “Love School” on MTV, added: “I don’t react”.
But it affects Anusha, he says.
“Anusha gets very affected… I am being followed by people and if someone says something to my girlfriend, then I need to take a stand because I don’t want people to think that ‘It’s okay to not take a stand’… Whenever it goes out of hand where I need to set an example also, is when I come in.”
Ranbir Kapoor to star in and as ‘Shamshera’
Mumbai– Actor Ranbir Kapoor will go all fierce and intense for the upcoming action-adventure film “Shamshera”, which marks his comeback to the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner after nine years.

A teaser of the project shows Ranbir leading an army of dacoits, and delivering the punch line of the film in a husky voice: “Karam se dacait, dharam se azaad”.
“‘Shamshera’ is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. ‘Shamshera’ allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me,” Ranbir said in a statement.
The film is part of YRF’s three-movie deal with Karan Malhotra, who directed “Agneepath” and “Brothers”.
“Karan is going to take me completely out of my comfort zone and I’m looking forward to this challenge,” Ranbir said of the high-octane adventure which is set in the heartland of India.
“Shamshera” is set to go on the floors at the end of this year and shooting will wrap up by mid 2019.
Ranbir’s last two outings with YRF were “Bachna Ae Haseeno” and “Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year”.
I was scared of working with Rahul Roy: Musskan
Mumbai– Actress Musskan Sethi, who made her acting debut with the 2017 Telugu film “Paisa Vasool”, is set to feature in her first Bollywood movie with Rahul Roy. She says she was initially “scared” of working with the “Junoon” actor.
The upcoming film titled “Sayonne” will also feature actress Upasana Singh and actor Yograj Singh.
“It has a stellar cast and it feels good to be a part of such a film. I have grown up watching ‘Aashiqui’ but I was also scared of working with Rahul Roy since as a child, ‘Junoon’ gave me the chills. Working with him was a great experience and I got to learn a lot… not only from him but also from Yograj Sir,” Musskan said in a statement.
The film has been shot in Russia.
Sara Khan to share screen space with sister
Mumbai– Actress Sara Khan and her sister Ayra Khan will work together in a show titled “Bitchy Bee”.
“I’m going make my debut with my sister Sara. What more can be lucky for me? I’m enjoying working with my sister for her show. The show will release soon and hopefully people will love us.
“The most exciting part about it is that we are going to play ourselves,” Ayra said in a statement.
Sara finds working with her sibling fun.
“I have many friends in the industry and I have seen them working together. I just wish her best for her debut and pray that she grows and gets more popularity,” she added.
Sara is also tied up with her TV show “Woh Apna Sa”.
Arshi Khan to appear in music video
Mumbai– Former “Bigg Boss” contestant Arshi Khan is set to feature in a Punjabi music video.
“I’m excited to star in a Punjabi music video. I would even love to explore acting in regional films. That will help me know more about India’s diversity,” Arshi said in a statement.
Apart from “Bigg Boss”, she has also appeared in TV shows “Entertainment Ki Raat” and “Ishq Mein Marjawan”. (IANS)
