Culture is the foundation of a society: Ali Fazal

Mumbai– Actor Ali Fazal, who has lent support to filmmaker Tigamanshu Dhulia’s NGO in Allahabad, says culture is the foundation of a society.

The NGO called Sanchaari is all set to come up with an event this month with the theme ‘Youth’ for their annual event Oorja, which will take place from November 16 to 18.

Ali and Dhulia have collaborated to be part of this event to spread positivity among people.

He said: “It’s crucial for literature and culture to be preserved and I really appreciate what Sanchaari is doing towards the idea of promoting literary thoughts and ideas. Culture is the foundation of a society and to promote its awareness is truly something that is uplifting and also educative.

“I truly believe the cause that Oorja, Sanchaari’s annual event stands for and thus I am elated to be a part of it. Looking forward to experiencing its vibrant and purposeful activities when I am there in person.”

On the film front, Ali is all set for his next release with Sanjay Dutts’s “Prassthanam” and “Milan Talkies”.

Rani Laxmibai was a visionary: Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai– Actress Kangana Ranaut says she values freedom because of Rani Laxmibai.

“I’ve grown up listening to Rani Laxmibai’s legend and folklore like all of us but at the same time I did not know the intensity of her life. Her youth had gone in battling the enemy and preparing the regular people to become warriors,” Kangana said in a statement to IANS.

“What was unknown about her life is that she fought for many things that are acceptable today like adoption and women empowerment. She was completely against untouchability and she neither believed in caste system. She was a Brahmin who fought like Kshatriyas. She fought against Bargad Pratha, Parda system, caste system and untouchability. She fought for all these things relentlessly and conquered all those.

“She was a visionary and I value the freedom that we have because of her a lot more,” she added.

Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, “Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi”, which captures the life story of Rani Laxmibai, will release on January 25 next year. Kangana will be bringing her life alive on the big screen.

When women are strong, countries become stronger: Akshay

Mumbai– Lending his support to gender equality, actor Akshay Kumar said that strong women make stronger countries.

Akshay along with a bevy of Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal, Rekha, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt, gathered on Sunday night to attend the 3rd Lux Golden Rose Awards to extend their support to the United Nations’ campaign #HeForShe.

Talking on the subject, Akshay said: “When women are strong, families become strong and countries stronger. I am happy to be a part of a family which has many strong women like my mother, my wife, my sister and my mother-in-law.”

The campaign celebrates the contribution of women to society.

Talking about the role of female actors in the industry, Shah Rukh said: “These women have contributed to making me a better human.”

People have to wait to see my wedding: Alia Bhatt

Mumbai– Actress Alia Bhatt has made it clear that her well-wishers have to wait to see her marriage happening whenever it does.

There were reports that Alia is going to tie knot with actor Ranbir Kapoor in 2019 but the actress says that people have to wait.

“If people are waiting for my wedding then, they have to wait for it. I think climax should be good and there should be a happy ending to it,” she said while interacting with media at Lux Golden Rose Awards 2018 on Sunday, here.

Alia and Ranbir sort of made their relationship official when both of them walked together hand-in-hand at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception earlier this year. They are also going to be seen together for the first time in “Brahmastra”.

Reacting on Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s impending wedding which is going to take place in Jodhpur, Alia said, “I am really happy and excited that PC (Priyanka Chopra) is getting married. I am very excited to see PC and her wedding attire. I am very fond of her and I have lot of warmth and love for her. I hope that she will have a beautiful wedding. I am sure she will make a beautiful bride and she should have a beautiful life.”

Alia is often being compared with Kareena Kapoor Khan in terms of their look and acting style and when asked that ow does she take that comparison, she said, “It’s a compliment for me but I don’t think it’s true because I think there is going to be only one Bebo (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and I am very different from her so, I don’t think it’s fair to draw comparison between us.”

Don’t want to take myself too seriously: Alia Bhatt

Mumbai– Actress Alia Bhatt, who was last seen in “Raazi”, says that she doesnt want to take herself too seriously while acting in films.

Alia was interacting with media at Lux Golden Rose Awards 2018 on Sunday in Mumbai.

When asked if she has ever felt that she has reached at the top of her game, Alia said, “I think that would be wrong on my side to think like that because then, it can affect my decisions and I will start taking myself too seriously so, I don’t want to do all that.

“I think that’s what you to say and me to enjoy. I just want to work here and entertain the audience.”

Alia added that she just wants to keep doing her work and entertain the audience.

“I have been really fortunate to get lot of love from audience and at the same time lot of support from my directors and the people that I have worked with. In that journey, I have made some great friends and I have done some fun films for my liking so, the only goal is to keep going, keep my focus straight, enjoy the love and be a good person ,” she said.

Big B concludes ‘KBC’ season 10 finale shoot

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has finished shooting for the tenth season of the quiz based reality show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (“KBC”).

Amitabh on Monday morning tweeted: ” ‘KBC’ finale done. End of this season. It is 10 seasons of ‘KBC’… its 18 years of ‘KBC’ from year 2000. For me 716 episodes of ‘KBC’, 855 hours over 9 seasons additionally about 3-4 hours of work over each episode and another 4-5 hours of prep on each episode.”

“Kaun Banega Crorepati” is based on the British programme “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Nine seasons have been hosted by Amitabh. Only season three was taken over by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

On the silver screen, the 76-year-old star currently has two films – “Badla” and “Brahmastra” – in his kitty.

Sara is a born star: Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena share warm bond with her step-daughter Sara Ali Khan who will soon mark her Hindi film debut with “Kedarnath” and at the trailer launch of the film, the debutante said that she wants to imbibe professionalism of Kareena.

When asked about the debut of Sara, Kareena said, “I am quite sure that the film will be a super hit but irrespective of that, I think she is a born star.”

At the award ceremony, all four leading actresses of “Veere Di Wedding” were awarded the Lux Golden Rose Award for the confident beauty of the year,
