Akshay Oberoi: ‘Gurgaon’ was a learning experience

Mumbai– Akshay Oberoi turned nostalgic as his film ‘Gurgaon’ completed four years of its release date this week. The actor says the 2017 film was a learning experience for him.

Talking about the same, Akshay shared: “Being a part of this film has been a huge learning experience, and remembering those days makes me feel quite nostalgic. Gurgaon will always be special for me, I got the opportunity to work with such huge talents like Pankaj Tripathi and Shankar Raman, and I don’t think I could ask for anything more. Even today people send messages after watching the film on OTT and makes me very happy.”

Akshay played a grey character in the suspense thriller film directed by Shankar Raman which also featured Pankaj Tripathi and Ragini Khanna.

On the work front, Akshay will next be seen in the web series ‘Inside Edge 3’. Also featuring Vivek Oberoi, Sayani Gupta, Amit Sial, Richa Chadha, Sapna Pabbi and Sidhant Gupta, the third season of the popular show is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video.

Amit Sial on his willingness to play comical roles

Mumbai– Actor Amit Sial who is known for his roles in shows like ‘Inside Edge’, ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Jamtara’ and the recent political drama ‘Maharani’, feels that people should trust him as the driving force of a series or a film.

He says: “I feel that I am ready to lead projects on my own shoulders. If you want to grow, then we should be ready to push ourselves to the extreme limits.”

Even before OTT, Sial has done films like ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’, ‘Titli’, ‘Raid’ and many more. However he feels that success came to him after doing OTT shows.

Sial shares: “It is a fact that before OTT, the industry noticed my talent, but after venturing into digital space, my journey took a 360-degree turn.”

After doing hard-hitting roles, the actor is craving for comic and romantic roles, “I am looking out for a comical film because people tell me that I’m blessed with a good sense of humour, and I want to come out of this ‘serious guy’ image, so I would like to test my comic timing. Also, I want to romance, so I am open to such roles as well.”

Amit will be seen in ‘Inside Edge 3’, ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’ and ‘Inspector Avinash’ opposite Randeep Hooda.

Sidharth Malhotra says playing Vikram Batra was challenging as an actor

Mumbai– Actor Sidharth Malhotra was very keen to bring the story of Captain Vikram Batra, hero of the Kargil War, to life. He says playing the Param Vir Chakra recipient on the silver screen was not only a huge responsibility but also very challenging.

Sidharth not only met Vikram Batra’s family to discuss the idea of the film titled ‘Shershaah’, but he also brought the story to Bollywood to showcase the journey of the personality to the masses.

Talking about the role, Sidharth said: “When I heard about Vikram Batra’s life, I knew his story needed to be shown to the world and hopefully inspire everyone. I think I am very fortunate to have spent time with his family and friends learning about him and it has played a major role in prepping for my role.”

The actor said that the uniform and the name tag on it would change Sidharth every single time he would face the camera.

He said: “Every time I used to go in front of the camera wearing an Army uniform with Vikram Batra’s name on it, it used to change me. I think playing him on the silver screen was not only a huge responsibility but also very challenging as an actor.”

Sidharth added: “I would always think about how he would have reacted to moments and situations in the film and I tried to be as close to his personality as possible. His intensity, his romance, his love for the nation, all of it I was feeling from within.”

Manoj Bajpayee on anchoring 3 episodes of ‘Crime Patrol Satark’

Mumbai– Actor Manoj Bajpayee is anchoring three episodes of real-life crime drama series ‘Crime Patrol Satark’.

Bajpayee who been appreciated for his roles in “Satya”, “Shool”, “Raajneeti”, “Gangs of Wasseypur” series, “Aligarh” and “Bhonsle”, shares that because of his role in ‘Dial 100’, he got an idea about crime and thus it helped him in doing this show.

He says: “Crime as a genre is not just engaging but also eye opening. Crime Patrol Satark has been doing that for a while now and I was happy to associate with the show as an anchor for 3 episodes.

“I will be seen essaying the role of Nikhil Sood, a ‘Senior Inspector at Emergency Police Control Room’ in ZEE5’s upcoming original movie ‘Dial 100’ which is a race-against-time kind of a thriller. My experiences through Nikhil’s character helped me anchor Crime Patrol seamlessly as both roles require a certain sense of urgency and a need to identify the tell-tale signs of a criminal activity unfolding.”

Kapoor family’s new kid Zahan Kapoor all set to debut in thriller ‘Faraaz’

New Delhi– Zahan Kapoor, another entrant from Bollywood’s illustrious Kapoor family, is all set to make his debut in Hindi films. Late superstar Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan will be seen in Hansal Mehta’s directorial ‘Faraaz’.

Zahan is the son of actor Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy, daughter of filmmaker Ramesh Sippy.

An Anubhav Sinha production, jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, ‘Faraaz’ is an action thriller depicting the Holey Artisan Cafe terrorist attack that shook Bangladesh in July 2016.

This film chronicles the events that took place on the night of July 1, 2016, in Dhaka where five young militants ravaged the upscale cafe and held over 50 people hostage for nearly 12 dreadful hours.

Zahan has been an active theatre actor and photographer. He made his debut at Prithvi Theatre with ‘Pitaji Please’ opposite Makarand Deshpande and Swanand Kirkire. He has staged several performances at Prithvi Theatre which was set up by his grandparents Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kapoor in memory of his great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor.

Zahan’s father Kunal Kapoor is a producer for TV commercials and also an actor. He has films like ‘Siddhartha’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Ahista Ahista’, ‘Singh is Bling’ and the latest ‘Panipat’ to his credit. His mother Sheena Sippy is a portrait and food photographer, designer and creative consultant. (IANS)
