Akshay Kumar becomes target of deepfake video; actor plans legal action
Mumbai– In a concerning turn of events, actor Akshay Kumar finds himself in the crosshairs of a deepfake scandal, as a fabricated video has surfaced online, featuring the superstar promoting a game application.
“The actor has never indulged in promotions of any such activity. The source of this video is being looked into and legal action is underway for misusing the actor’s identity for false advertising,” said the sources.
“A cyber complaint against the social media handle and the company has been filed for creating and promoting this fake video.”
In the AI generated video, Akshay is seen saying, “Do you like to play too? I advice you to download this application and try the aviator game. This is the popular slot all over the world that everyone plays here. We are not playing against the casino but against other players.”
The users wrote in the comment section: “Fake alert”. One fan said: “Deep fake”.
Sources close to the actor further said: “He is deeply upset at having his identity misused and has instructed his team to deal with this matter using all legal remedies available.”
Earlier, there have been deep fake videos of actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Nora Fatehi, Katrina Kaif, Kajol and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar doing rounds on the internet.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay is gearing up for the release of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. He also has ‘Sky Force’, ‘Singham Again’, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Hera Pheri 3’, and ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat’ in the pipeline.
Sonu Sood, Riteish open up on their fondest memories of Celebrity Cricket League
Mumbai– Actors Sonu Sood and Riteish Deshmukh have opened up on their association with the 10th season of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), revealing their fond memories attached with the ultimate sportainment spectacle.
Launched in 2011, CCL has evolved to become India’s most-watched sport and entertainment event. Sonu is the captain of ‘Punjab De Sher’, while Riteish is the captain of ‘Mumbai Heroes’.
Among the luminaries associated with CCL are Salman Khan, who is the brand ambassador of ‘Mumbai Heroes’, while his brother Sohail Khan is the owner of ‘Mumbai Heroes’.

About his association with CCL, Sonu said: “For me, Celebrity Cricket League is more than just a game. It’s an opportunity for us actors to unite and have lots of fun on and off the field. I remember a hilarious incident when once on field I hit a shot in the air and within moments Manoj was under the ball.”

Jaya Bachchan says she doesn’t mind being a ‘meme-generator’
Mumbai– Veteran actress and politician Jaya Bachchan, who often gets into a playful tiff with the paparazzi, has said that she doesn’t mind being the source for such entertainment and a “meme-generator”.
The senior actress, along with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, appeared on the second season of her grand-daughter Navya Naveli’s podcast, ‘What the Hell, Navya’.
The three discussed the term ‘Jaya-ing’. Shweta and Navya explained the meaning of the term to Jaya. Shweta said that when someone is being ‘salty’, it is said that the person is ‘Jaya-ing’.
Shweta told her mother: “You are an internet sensation, a meme-generator.”
During the podcast, they also touched upon the subject of side-hustle, a concept where people indulge in other works as a source of additional income.
Jaya Bachchan said: “I do a side hustle.I provide meals for some of the people who do my memes. I don’t mind people making fun of me, but people should do it properly.”
Shweta also spoke about how being a mother or a housewife is a thankless job and that it’s just taken for granted, but running a house is like a mini business and nobody respects it.
She said: “It’s not given any respect. It’s just something you’re supposed to do. But if you stop house-wifing, everything will go helter-skelter. It’s something which is just taken for granted. Nobody even writes it in a form as a profession that you’re a housewife. You’re doing HR, finance, day-to-day management. You’re basically running a mini business and shaping up minds.”
Kriti Sanon to ‘Indian Idol 14’ contestant: Your voice is similar to Rekha Bhardwaj
Mumbai– Actress Kriti Sanon, who appeared on ‘Indian Idol 14’, lauded the performance of contestant Adya Mishra for her soulful rendition of the tracks ‘Ik Kuddi’, and ‘Raat Ke Dhai Baje’, comparing her voice to singer Rekha Bhardwaj.
The singing reality show welcomed Shahid Kapoor and Kriti, who promoted their upcoming movie ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.
In this special episode titled ‘Dhamaakedar 8’, contestant Adya Mishra from Faridabad mesmerised everyone by singing ‘Ik Kuddi’ from the movie ‘Udta Punjab’, and ‘Raat Ke Dhai Baje’ from the movie ‘Kaminey’.
Amazed by Adya’s performance, Kriti said: “Adya, the texture of your voice is so lovely. You can sing softly and at the same time, there is pain and pizazz in it.”
“When you were singing the first song, I mentioned to Vishal Dadlani sir that your voice is very similar to that of Rekha Bharadwaj ma’am. I enjoyed your performance,” added Kriti.
Singer and performer Rekha, who is the wife of filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, is known for her tracks like ‘Balma’, ‘Teri Fariyad’, ‘Judaai’, ‘Hamari Atariya Pe’, ‘Kabira’ among many others.
Hearing Adya’s voice modulation in the songs, judge Vishal Dadlani said: “I think you’re ready to make sure you stay in the game. The Adya we previously met was someone who knew her voice, knew how to use it, and knew how to take command and provide a memorable performance that you can’t forget.”
“I’m stunned today as I didn’t expect that you would sing to this level suddenly. It was an outstanding, blockbuster performance,” added Vishal.
Judge Shreya Ghoshal also showered her with praise, saying: “Adya, I agree with what Vishal said. This song – ‘Pheli Baar Mohabbat ki hai’, suits you a lot and I enjoyed it a lot. I always try to give you a hint that you’re made for this genre of singing. I was wowed by what you did today.”
