Aamir Khan gives mahurat clap for Total Dhamaal

Mumbai– Superstar Aamir Khan gave the mahurat clap for the upcoming film “Total Dhamaal” here on Tuesday.

The film is being directed by Indra Kumar.

However, he played assistant to actor Anil Kapoor in directing the ‘mahurat’ shot, for which actress Madhuri Dixit switched on the camera. The shot took place in the presence of Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Javed Jaffery and Sanjay Mishra, read a statement from the film’s makers.

Presented by Fox Star Studios, “Total Dhamaal” is jointly-produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms, Ashok Thakeria, Markand Adhikari, Anand Pandit and Fox Star Studios. It also features Riteish Deshmukh.

Richa wants to see more of Shefali Shah on-screen

Mumbai– Actress Richa Chadha, who has praised Neeraj Ghaywan’s “Juice”, says she wants to see more of the short film’s lead actress Shefali Shah on-screen.

“Juice” was named the Best Film at the Filmfare Short Films Awards 2018, and Shefali bagged the Best Actor (Female).

Richa tweeted on Tuesday: “Neeraj, the film was amaze! So real, like peeking into our own living rooms. I want to see so much more of Shefali Shah in films and in every possible medium! The whole cast was beautiful. Congratulations. Very well deserved. Love you.”

“Juice” is about gender and family dynamics, and it portrays patriarchy and misogyny. The 14-minute film also stars Manish Choudhary.

This is not the first time Ghaywan has won an award for a film. Earlier, the director received the Indira Gandhi Award for the Best Debut Film of a director for “Masaan” at the 63rd Indian National Film Awards.

Priyanka Chopra’s new Marathi production begins (Lead)

Mumbai– Work has begun on actress-producer Priyanka Chopra’s new Marathi production titled “Firebrand”.

A tweet from Priyanka’s home production banner Purple Pebble Pictures read: “Welcoming 2018 with our upcoming Marathi Project: ‘Firebrand’.”

Priyanka wrote on Tuesday: “2018 is here and we’ve hit the ground running with our new Marathi production ‘Firebrand’ directed by the amazing Arunaraje Patil, which began filming yesterday. All the very best team Purple Pebble Pictures, Madhu Chopra and Sandeep Bhargava.”

Priyanka’s first Marathi production venture was “Ventilator”. It was directed by Rajesh Mapuskar and starred Ashutosh Gowariker, Jitendra Joshi, Sulabha Arya and Sukanya Kulkarni Mone.

“Ventilator” won three honours at the 64th National Film Awards.

Badshah hopes fans like ‘Kareja’

Mumbai– Singer-rapper Badshah resleased his new single “Kareja” on Tuesday and hopes his fans enjoy the dance number.

“I had promised my fans that I will release the second single from ‘O.N.E’ early 2018 and here it is. I really hope you all enjoy it and if you have not heard it yet, then do it now. 2018 ka pehla dance song,” said Badshah in a statement.

Composed and written by the rapper, the video of the track features playback singer Aastha Gill.

Pawanesh Pajnu, Head (North) at Sony Music India, said: “Our plan was to release the song on January 1, but we waited to reset the party mood. ‘Kareja’ is an earworm and the song will be another milestone in the pop industry.”

After “Mercy”, “Kareja” is the second single from the album ‘O.N.E’ aka “Original Never Ends”, Badshah’s first pop album which will feature 6-8 songs. (IANS)
