Bollywood Playback Singer Shalmali Kholgade on Chai With Manju Talks About Her First Song Getting Filmfare Award and Sings Her Balam Pichkari Jo Tune Mujhe Maari

BOSTON-If you even know a little bit about modern Bollywood songs, you will remember “Balam Pichkari Jo Tune Mujhe Maari” from a few years ago. It was then played almost any song, dance or party venue you went to.

Well, its singer Shalmali Kholgade sat down for an exclusive video interview on Chai With Manju with Dr. Manju Sheth and talks about her exciting musical journey. During the interview, she also sings her signature song “Balam Pichkari Jo Tune Mujhe Maari…”

Ms. Kholgade won prestigious Filmfare Award for her first debut Bollywood song “Pareshaan” in 2012 for film Ishaqzaade. Currently, she is visiting Berklee College of Music.

Also joining the interview is Clint Valladares, co-founder of Berklee India Exchange, which fosters collaboration between India and Berklee College, provides opportunities for Berklee musicians to create and perform original Indian music, and supports music education in India through access to Berklee resources, scholarships, and workshops.
