Bollywood Living Legend Gulzar, a Well-Known Lyricist, Poet, Screenwriter and Film Director, to Visit Boston on Sunday

BOSTON— Bollywood living legend, Sampooran Singh Kalra, known simply as Gulzar, will visit Boston on Sunday, July 17, 2022, and will participate in an evening of poetry, ghazal and music at Lynn Memorial Auditorium in Lynn, MA.

Gulzar’s Boston program is presented by Dhoom Entertainment. It is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM at Lynn auditorium, located at 3 City Hall Square in Lynn. Tickets are: $59, $79, $99 and $159 with Meet & Greet. To buy your ticket, please visit Sulekha.com.

Gulzar, at the age 87, is one of India’s leading lyricists and film directors. He has won five Indian National Film Awards, including 2 Best Lyrics, one Best Screenplay, one Second Best Feature Film (director), and one Best Popular Film (director); 22 Filmfare Awards; one Academy Award; and one Grammy Award.

Moreover, Gulzar has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award, the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in India, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema.

Praveen Misra, a Bostonian interested in music and Hindi cinema, said listening to Gulzar live in Boston is a lifetime opportunity.
