NEW YORK—India’s Ministry of External Affairs has opened applications for 150 scholarships to the children of People of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) for pursuing undergraduate courses at specified institutions in India.
The scholarship is offered under ”Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children (SPDC)” program, according to a statement from Indian Consulate General in new York.
Under this scholarship program, the Ministry of External Affairs provides financial assistance to students selected under SPDC covering up to 75% of the total Institutional Economic Costs subject to maximum of USD 4,000.
Details for SPDC scheme along with the specified institutes and courses covered for the academic session 2019-20 are now available at SPDC portal :www.spdcindia.gov.in.
