AIF Gala Co-Chairs Nirmala and Paramesh Garimella on Upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebrations on May 11th in Boston

BOSTON–The American India Foundation (AIF), which is committed to improving the lives of India’s underprivileged—with a special focus on women, children, and youth—through high impact interventions in education, livelihoods, and public health, will host its 20th Annual Gala on May 11th, 2024, at Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston.

In an exclusive video interview with INDIA New England News, AIF Gala Co-Chairs Nirmala and Paramesh Garimella talk about the upcoming special 20th anniversary celebrations gala. AIF’s New England chapter alone has raised more than $20 million during the last 20 years.

Mr. Garimella came to United States in 1994 on a work assignment and has been in Boston area since then. He had a long career in Information technology starting with consulting organizations like PWC, IBM and continuing to leadership roles in pharmaceutical industry in Information Technology area.

After taking voluntary retirement from Novartis vaccines division, he is currently doing some independent consulting.

He has had a long association with non-profit sector since 2005. He was the first President of Boston area non-profit organization called Vision Aid Inc for three years and then continued as a board member for 15 years.

Mr. Garimella is currently serving as a board member on AIF’s New England advisory board. He is also involved in other local area nonprofits like Somerville Cambridge Elder Services, Cambridge Community learning center etc. He enjoys playing pickle ball and like to study developmental economics.

Ms. Garimella is a non-profit consultant and champions national and international efforts to support women, children, and families. An emphasis on cross-cultural understanding is reflected in many dimensions of her work, as she advocates for gender equity and greater awareness of women and girls’ issues.

She has been associated with AIF New England for nearly two decades.
