About 700 Business Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs Attend TiECON East 2019 in Boston

BOSTON— About 700 business executives, professionals and entrepreneurs on Tuesday attended TiECON East, the largest entrepreneurial conference on the East Coast.

TiE Boston President Nilanjana Bhowmik said about 700 attended the conference, which was one the largest TiECONs in recent years. TiECON East 2019 was chaired by Sanjay Jain.

Mr. Jain said that this conference of such a large magnitude and the quality of speakers was possible because of the hard work of volunteers during the last six months.

The conference was held on May 17 at Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston and has more than 40 speakers and four tracks—ranging from artificial intelligence and machine learning to digital health, blockchain and startup lifecycle.

The four keynote speakers included Aron Ain, CEO of Kronos and author of newly-published book “WorkInspired: How to Build an Organization Where Everyone Loves to Work”;  legendary investor, founder and CEO of Breyer Capital Jim Breyer; Veracode CEO Sam King; and Seema Kumar, Vice President of Innovation, Global Health and Policy Communication at Johnson & Johnson.

Shirley Leung, Editorial Page Editor of the Boston Globe, moderated the opening keynote address. Other keynote moderators include Hemant Taneja, Managing Partner, General Catalyst;  Maia Heymann, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Converge; Darshana Zaveri, Managing Partner, Catalyst Health Ventures.
