TiECON East 2026 Brings Together More Than 400 Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders to Explore Growth in the Age of AI

Day-long conference organized by TiE Boston and co-hosted by TiE New York features industry-leading keynotes, discussions on product, market and capital strategy, and Emerging Startup Showcase winners.

BURLINGTON, Mass.— TiE Boston, in collaboration with co-host TiE New York, announced the successful conclusion of TiECON East 2026, a day-long conference that brought together more than 400 entrepreneurs, investors, executives and business leaders at the Burlington Marriott Hotel on October 2.

Centered on the theme, “The Next Growth Playbook: Product, Market and Capital in the Age of AI,” the conference explored how founders and business leaders can harness artificial intelligence to accelerate growth, build competitive advantage, attract capital and create enduring companies.

The conference convened an engaged community of founders, investors, operators and innovators for a full day of keynote presentations, fireside conversations, panel discussions and networking. TiECon East 2026 was structured to enable attendees to gain key takeaways from experienced entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Attendees were enabled to derive value from both structured and unstructured discussions around the challenges of building, scaling and sustaining businesses in the age of AI.

“TiECON East 2026 was designed to move the conversation about AI beyond the technology itself and toward the decisions that determine whether companies succeed,” said Ameeta Soni, Chair of TiECON East 2026. “The conversations throughout the day reinforced that sustainable growth still depends on understanding customers, executing with discipline, building trust and making thoughtful decisions about product, market and capital. Our goal was to give entrepreneurs practical ideas they can take back to their businesses, and the enthusiasm and engagement of the attendees made this a truly rewarding experience.”

Co-Chair Vikram Venkatasubramanian added, “AI is creating extraordinary possibilities, but turning those possibilities into successful businesses requires sound judgment, strong teams, meaningful customer relationships and the ability to adapt. TiECON East created a forum for connections that we hope will continue long after the event.”

The conference featured three distinguished keynote speakers whose entrepreneurial experience and industry expertise offered complementary perspectives on the future of business in the age of AI.

Sunil Madhu, Founder and CEO of Instnt, delivered the opening keynote, “What Still Wins When Everyone Has AI.” A serial entrepreneur and pioneer in AI-powered digital identity and fraud prevention, Madhu drew on decades of experience building technology companies to explore how businesses can establish lasting competitive advantage as advanced AI capabilities become more widely accessible. His perspective highlighted the importance of trust, execution, innovation and risk management in building category-defining companies.

Jeff Elton, Vice Chairman and former Founding CEO of ConcertAI, delivered the midday keynote, “The AI Opportunity in Life Sciences: What’s Real and What’s Next.” Elton examined the practical applications of AI across drug development, clinical research and healthcare delivery, addressing where the technology is generating measurable value today and where significant opportunities and challenges remain. His insights underscored the importance of translating technological innovation into tangible improvements in research, operational effectiveness and patient outcomes.

David Friend, co-founder, president and CEO of Wasabi Technologies, delivered the closing keynote, “Building Companies That Hold Up Over Time.” Drawing on his experience founding or co-founding six technology companies across multiple sectors, Friend shared lessons on leadership, resilience, adaptability and long-term value creation. His remarks emphasized the enduring principles of company building that remain essential even as technology, markets and customer expectations evolve.

Together, the keynote presentations offered attendees a broad perspective on the entrepreneurial landscape—from identifying genuine opportunities in emerging technologies to building businesses capable of sustaining growth through successive waves of innovation.

A Practical Playbook for Entrepreneurs in the AI Era

The AI enabled product development fireside chat session enabled active discussion by speakers and attendees around capital efficiency, organizational scaling and leadership. Valuable insights were centered around identifying meaningful customer problems, distinguishing sustainable opportunities from short-lived trends, effective resource deployment and building adaptable business models.

A central focus was the relationship between technology and execution. While AI offers new ways to develop products, streamline operations and reach customers, building a successful enterprise continues to require a clear value proposition, disciplined decision-making, strong leadership and a deep understanding of market needs.

The conference also highlighted the importance of capital strategy in an evolving investment environment, encouraging entrepreneurs to think critically about growth priorities, resource allocation and the fundamentals required to build durable, scalable businesses.

Through its single-track format, TiECON East enabled attendees to engage with a shared program and participate in conversations spanning the entrepreneurial lifecycle, from early-stage innovation and market validation to investment, expansion and long-term company building.

Emerging Startup Showcase Recognizes Promising Innovators

A key highlight of TiECON East 2026 was the Emerging Startup Showcase, which provided selected startups with an opportunity to present their businesses to an audience of investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders.

The showcase highlighted emerging companies and their approaches to addressing market needs, developing innovative solutions and building scalable business models. It also provided a platform for founders to gain visibility, share their ideas and connect with potential investors, mentors and partners.

The showcase prize winners were:

  • Overall Winner: Change: Water Labs
  • AI, Software & Hardware Track Winner: SGBI Inc.
  • Life Sciences Track Winner: QSM Diagnostics
  • India-U.S. Ventures: Nivi

The showcase reflected TiE’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs at critical stages of their journeys by connecting promising founders with the experience, networks and resources that can help them move forward.
