Honey Singh Seeks More Time After Skipping Maharashtra Cyber Cell Summons

Mumbai — Rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh failed to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday after being summoned for questioning over controversial remarks he allegedly made at a concert in Delhi.
According to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, Singh was directed through a notice to appear in person before the investigating officer and record his statement. He instead requested additional time to appear.
The case stems from remarks Singh allegedly made during a concert that were described as indecent. A complaint was later filed with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, prompting an investigation and the summons.
Earlier this year, a video clip of Singh making a sexually suggestive remark circulated widely on social media and drew criticism from users.
Singh later posted a video apologizing and explaining the context of his comments.
“A video of mine has been going viral on Instagram since morning, edited in a way that’s offended many people. I want to tell you the whole story. My intention was never to hurt, insult, or offend anyone,” he said.
Singh said the remarks followed conversations he had with a gynecologist and sexologist about concerns over sexually transmitted diseases among young people and unprotected sex.
“A few days prior to the incident, I had interactions with a leading gynaecologist and sexologist who shared about the rising concerns of sexually transmitted diseases among the younger generation due to unprotected sex. This conversation stayed with me,” he said.
Singh added that while attending a show featuring Nanku and Karun, he tried to communicate a message about protection in language he believed would resonate with the largely Gen Z audience. (Source: IANS)
