Police Search for 17-Year-Old Arjun Aravind After Two Found Dead in Acton Home; Car Recovered in Wayland
ACTON, Mass. — Police are searching for a 17-year-old boy after a woman and another teenage boy were found dead inside an Acton home Tuesday evening, according to reporting by Boston 25 News.
The investigation expanded into Wayland early Wednesday, where police located a vehicle believed to be connected to the case. Boston 25 News, citing authorities, reported that investigators had been searching for a 2014 green Honda Accord owned by the woman found dead. Boston 25 News video appeared to show a vehicle matching the description being towed from a parking lot on Andrew Avenue near a Stop & Shop and a medical office.
According to Boston 25 News, Acton police responded to a home on Martha Lane at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after a family member requested a well-being check. Officers subsequently found a woman and a teenage boy dead inside the residence, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. Their identities have not been released.
Authorities are searching for Arjun Aravind, 17, who investigators say was the third member of the household. Boston 25 News reported that Aravind is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Authorities have not said whether he is considered a suspect or whether they believe he may be in danger.
The district attorney’s office has not released the cause or manner of death of either victim. Authorities also have not provided additional details about the relationship among the three members of the household.
Police activity was also reported at a shopping plaza in Hudson, and authorities said that activity was connected to the Acton investigation, according to Boston 25 News.
WCVB also reported that a person questioned by police was taken into custody, although it was not immediately clear whether that person was connected to the Acton deaths. WCVB reported that the vehicle sought by investigators was found in Wayland.
Acton residents should expect an increased police presence as investigators continue their work. Acton Police Chief Douglas Sturniolo expressed condolences to the victims’ family and said authorities would continue working to keep residents safe.
