Samantha Reveals What Made Her Fall in Love with Her Character in Maa Inti Bangaram

Chennai— Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has revealed the one defining trait that made her instantly connect with her character in her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaram, which has now hit theaters.

During a recent interactive session with fans on social media, Samantha shared that it was the resilience of her character, Swarna, that made her fall completely in love with the role.

Interestingly, the actress also disclosed that among all the characters she has portrayed in Telugu cinema, Swarna is the one she feels is closest to her real-life personality.

Samantha, who not only stars in the film but has also produced it, recently spoke about the movie’s action sequences at a press conference. She emphasized the realistic approach taken by the filmmakers.

“If you see the film, there are no slow-motion sequences, no flying shots, no build-up shots. It’s extremely realistic. They’re real punches. I too have suffered blows. I’ve bled. The action sequences are extremely realistic,” Samantha said.

She added that she performed all the action sequences herself.

“I did all the action sequences myself. That is why everybody likes the action and it looks authentic,” she said.

The film’s trailer, released earlier this month, has generated considerable buzz and heightened expectations among fans.

The trailer introduces Samantha’s character as she arrives at her boyfriend’s home, where she is greeted with a barrage of questions from family members eager to know more about her.

“Have I seen you before?” “What is your name?” and “Where are you from?” are among the questions directed at her.

Rather than offering straightforward answers, she responds with a provocative question of her own: “Do you know who I really am?”

The trailer suggests that her boyfriend has waited two years for her and that she has now come to be with him and his family. However, what begins as a warm introduction soon feels more like an interrogation, as family members question her about her caste, cooking skills, and siblings.

Swarna appears increasingly uncomfortable with the scrutiny, comparing it to being questioned like a criminal.

She is eventually introduced to Anusuya, the younger daughter-in-law of the household, who is affectionately referred to as “Maa Inti Bangaram” — meaning “the gold of our house.”

In one of the trailer’s most powerful moments, Samantha’s character reflects on society’s expectations of women.

“A daughter-in-law is expected to have many qualities to be seen as the ideal woman. She should be beautiful, lean, well-behaved, should cook and sing,” she says.

She then delivers a defiant declaration: “I have none of those qualities. But I have one quality. I can risk everything to keep my family safe.”

With its blend of family drama, emotional conflict, and realistic action, Maa Inti Bangaram appears poised to showcase Samantha in one of her most intense and personal roles to date. (Source: IANS)
