Diljit Dosanjh Says Fans Inspired the Title of His Album Aura

MUMBAI — Diljit Dosanjh says the title of his latest album, Aura, came from his fans.
The Punjabi singer and actor shared the story during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he discussed the album’s success and his sold-out stadium concert in Vancouver.
A video shared from the show featured Fallon asking Dosanjh about Aura, his 15th studio album, which has crossed more than 100 million streams.
“‘Aura,’ is your latest album. Congratulations on this. It’s your 15th studio album. This has been streamed over 100 million times. Where did you come up with Aura?” Fallon asked.
Dosanjh said the idea came directly from comments he often hears from fans at his concerts.
“ It’s a fan statement. They come on my show. They all say, ‘amazing Aura’, you have amazing Aura. So that’s why I put my album name Aura,” he said.
Fallon laughed and replied, “Oh, okay. The fans named it for you.”
The two also discussed Dosanjh’s tour, including his Vancouver show.
“Amazing, amazing. Stadium sold out. It was an amazing, amazing show,” Dosanjh said.
The video was captioned: “@diljitdosanjh called his album AURA because his fans kept telling him he had ‘amazing aura’ #FallonTonight #DiljitOnFallon.”
On the acting front, Dosanjh is awaiting the release of Main Vapas Aaunga, directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film marks his second collaboration with Ali after the biopic Amar Singh Chamkila.
Main Vapas Aaunga is a period romantic drama starring Sharvari, Naseeruddin Shah and Vedang Raina. Set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India, the film explores love, separation, migration and memory.
The story is expected to follow a romantic relationship shaped and disrupted by historical upheaval, a familiar theme in Partition-era storytelling. The film also reunites Ali with A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil.
Backed by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films and Mohit Choudhary, Main Vapas Aaunga is scheduled to open in theaters June 12, 2026. (Source: IANS)
