Karan Johar Praises Alia Bhatt’s Cannes Look: ‘Just So Beautiful’

MUMBAI — Alia Bhatt made her first appearance at Cannes 2026, drawing praise for a princess-inspired look that quickly caught attention online.

Among those reacting to the actor’s appearance was filmmaker Karan Johar, who praised her after she shared photos from the event.

“just so so beautiful baby girl!!!! (sic),” Johar wrote in the comments, adding several red heart emojis.

Bhatt wore a landscape-print ball gown by designer Yash Patil. The outfit featured a romantic silhouette, a corseted sweetheart bodice and delicate spaghetti straps. The fabric included intricate floral and leaf-inspired detailing.

For makeup, Bhatt chose a soft, dewy base with rosy cheeks, muted eye makeup and glossy nude lips that matched the pastel tones of the gown.

She completed the look with a sleek side-parted bun and kept her jewelry minimal, wearing small earrings and a few rings.

Bhatt’s “Alpha” co-star Sharvari also praised the look, commenting, “Omg!!!!! Stunnning”.

Her mother, veteran actress Soni Razdan, wrote, “Ufff ufff uffff so pretty darling”.

Bhatt’s sister, Shaheen Bhatt, commented, “My waterlily”, along with a red heart emoji.

Riddhima Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor’s sister and Bhatt’s sister-in-law, also reacted with red heart and fire emojis.

Bhatt will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love & War,” alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The film is believed to be inspired by the Bollywood classic “Sangam,” which starred Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala and Rajendra Kumar.
